Great courses of fire at this match. I was staff for the weekend and it was a long couple of days! As usual I wish I had done better with some stupid mistakes but it was a fun weekend overall.

And in the end I won some 9mm ammo and a S&W Shield. Debating on selling the Shield and putting the money towards another 1911... maybe a 2011?

Nice shooting! If I ever have a day without stupid mistakes I won't know what to do with myself Tongue

I never had any intention of picking up a Shield but I wound up getting one a couple months ago and it has really filled a niche for me as a pocket gun. On the other hand.....picking up a 2011 is a nice thought.

I already have my XDS in .45... so do I really need another pocket pistol? If I can sell the Shield and the XDM 3.8, then I should be well on my way to a double-stack 1911/2011.

As for the stupid mistakes... When I went back it made me cringe. The shoot house and not reloading when I should have and then the malfunction. That hurt alot. And prone shooting remains the bane of my existence...

V won an M&P22 .. of course I already have one so that will be going up for sale!

For prone ... try rolling on your side(s) a bit instead of trying to shoot lying flat. You will find one position that will work better for you

I tried that at Beast and it didn't work out either. Something I need to practice.

It's hard to tell from the video but it looks like your're posting your elbows on the ground while shooting prone. I find that I'm far faster and more accurate if I keep my elbows up.

I've seen that... don't know if I'm capable of shooting like that. I'll give it a try, thanks for the reminder.

Believe it or not that stage wasn't bad from a points down perspective, just long on time time since I couldn't hit the steel "leg". Points down debacle was the shoot house and not timing my reload and a misfire on the out and back. I was 26 PD for that stage... ouch.
