But wait, I was told that we can't do that because then we'd be in a state of anarchy...you're starting to sound like an "extremist".

Let's think this through...
Proposing a bill to the government for the purpose of eliminating itself.

Shrug

That's probably not going to work...we'll have to do it the old fashion way.

Hypothetically of course, we would almost need a military coup to get this done and done quickly, whoever has the physical "power" ultimately rules and right now they're holding all the cards.

Hypothetically speaking of course. Wink

Not true... dissolution of the Federal government wouldnt create anarchy, as States laws still apply. It would cause an economic catastrophe though, and turn the US into a pre Union Europe.

I was trolling. But I don't see how it would cause an economic catastrophe....

States being propped up by Federal funds would see those funds cut. California, for instance, would simply have no money to pay all of the folks dependent on the system, which in turn would shutter thousands of businesses who provide products and services to those people.

Our international trading power would be obliterated and each state would have to make their own trade treaties with every other country.

And, unfortunately, China and Russia would absolutely begin seizing territories and shoulder us out of the global economy.

IMO, the best thing for the world would be a smaller, more effective, and completely transparent government with absolute term limits to prevent lifelong politicians from colluding with special interests and the military industrial complex.

Getting rid of the AFT as a law enforcement agency and leaving them with administrative and tax collection duties only would be a step in the right direction.

Getting the Federal government in line with the 18 areas of responsibility outlined in Article ! Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution would be the correct thing to do and automatically pare the gov't to a manageable size.
