I did not say we were doomed.

We either send the message to the republicans that we as CITIZENS (not solely republicans) have had enough of the nonsense or they will take us repeatedly down the same road.

They have two things they must do. Filibuster anything proposed in the senate and refuse to bring it to a vote in the house.

Simple, they do it or they don't. If they don't we need to turn our backs on them
.

Upset? No. Do I find your comments misleading and counterproductive at this point? Absolutely. Case in point:

"I don't think the letters or emails will do a freakin' thing."

This type of mentality in my opinion is so damaging to our cause and exactly what our enemies want us to believe. We're fighting a group of silver tongued devils who are masters of illusions and you're falling for the act. As I have repeated in my past post our numbers are great and the hardcore anti's are a skeleton crew in comparison. Yet even though nothing has hit the floor, nothing has been brought to a vote and nothing has passed we already doomed in your opinion. Mark my words though if these few hardcore, anti Liberals can truly silence and marginalize the voice/will of the majority, render the NRA impotent and get enough of the moderate Democrat and Republican members to side with them to push these laws through than it's over. We're living under the rule of a very small group, a one party system and they will win everything else they want from here on out and your suggestions will be rendered moot.

If something like the 2nd Amendment can be rendered void at such speed, something that has been passionately defended from the beginning to the current day by a big group of supporters than nothing will stop them.

I think that you should change the word "republicans" to "politicians," they ALL need to be getting that message.

Indeed, I have messaged all of my elected officials via Fax and E-Mail. Even the Democrat that is heavily influenced by the Liberals and the Big O.

I misunderstood you then, it seemed like you stated writing our elected officials will have no effect on the outcome.

I don't think it will. They know our position they many were elected solely on their progun stance. They either will be true to their promise or they won't I still sent the emails and letters.

This is where I am getting confused and where the misunderstanding comes from. If they got into office by their "Pro Gun" stance why would they turn their backs on us now? Aren't they the least bit concerned about their re-election chances? I doubt they will get votes from people the second time around after throwing them under the bus. It has happened before.

If we're right then they won't let it come to a vote and we have nothing to worry about and all this panic was for nothing. If we're wrong then we're screwed and all our emailing and screaming was just a waste of time.

Be honest guys, we're screwed no matter how this turns out. If they don't win this round they will find some other way to take more of our rights away.

I am sorry, nothing personal but that's just defeatism. We have to accept the mindset that winning is the only way and we can do it. They will always try to restrict our rights like they have been trying for decades but we seem to beat them back.

I'll agree that if we keep electing assholes because they have a letter ® on their chest we're doomed. However I suspect people will be even more critical next go around for mid-terms and presidential election and we might actually get some politicians that understand what truly needs to be done.

Not defeatist so much as losing my faith in the sheeple. They keep electing these twits and we get to keep fighting the same battles over and over again. Look at government spending. A number of us have been screaming about it for years, if not decades, and yet the sheeple keep electing people who are willing to put us deeper in debt. They don't grasp the fact that they are the folks who are responsible for paying off the IOUs. AngryAngryAngry

I hear that but the sheeple in general aren't passionate about their 2A rights either way, as long as they don't in unison turn against us I think our 2nd Amendment rights can survive in it's current shape for years to come. They're too tied up thinking about idiots and stupid shit plus most of them are too lazy to take action for or against anything. It's nothing new for certain politicians to try and limit our 2A rights, they have been trying since 1934. Yet with a few exceptions (Mainly just the right to own new full auto's) we are doing quiet well currently. If we can survive this legislation and continue bringing more people into firearm ownership maybe even someday we can strike things down like the 86 MG ban.
