#1
“No one owns the Chief position. It’s not for sale,” said acting Bloomfield Police Chief James Behre.

The 27-year New Jersey police veteran was speaking at a Town Council meeting, discussing the political corruption he was urged to take part in.

Less than 48 hours later, he received a letter from Township Administrator Ted Ehrenburg, relieving him of his duties. -

Are jersey sheriffs not elected? I see he is "acting sheriff". No idea, but it is time for him to go to the FBI.

Government is nothing but hypocracy and corruption. That's why it shouldn't be viewed as position of power, it should be a position of slavery to the people...not the other way around like it is now.

I heartily accept the motto,—“That government is best which governs least;” and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which I also believe,—“That government is best which governs not at all;” and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have.
—Thoreau, Civil Disobedience

^That was written in 1849...it was just as much of a problem then as it is now...that's a 165 years of bullshit. What the sad thing is, we haven't learned a damn thing in all that time.

This helps explain why we're seeing so many bad police officers. If our politicians are firing good leaders, well what's left to mentor and monitor the remaining?
