Judge to serve 28 years after making $2 million for sending black children to jail

Old news, I know. However an appellate court in PA just denied his request to overturn his conviction.

Judge Mark A. Ciavarella, 63, serves as an example of why the private prison industry can do more harm than good. Ciavarella worked alongside owners of private juvenile facilities to ensure that the prison remained occupied. The more prisoners equated to more profits for the owners of the prison.

As a result, Ciavarella would sentence offenders with small offenses to months and, at times, years behind bars. He once sentenced a teen to three months in jail for creating a MySpace page that mocked her school’s assistant principal. Ciavarella also sentenced another teen to 90 days in jail after a simple schoolyard fight.

The hubris to think he has a case before the SC. Serve your sentence and be quiet.

In another article:

http://2012thebigpicture.wordpress.com/2...-for-cash/

Quote:Ciaveralla’s attorneys requested a reasonable sentencing, arguing that the media attention brought to the case was punishment enough: “He will forever be unjustly branded as the `Kids for Cash’ judge.”

I'm also quite sure that he sentenced more than just black kids to jail, right?

Wasn't his case also profiled in Michael Moore's nauseating hit piece movie on capitalism called "Capitalism: A Love Story"? Didn't Michael Moore try to blame the United State's capitalist system for this judge's illegal acts?

Yeah Mike...under Socialism there would never be the temptation or incentive for a government bureaucrat, politician, judge or LEO to accept bribes or kickbacks from somebody. Rolleyes

Not me. I used the author's title for the thread title. If you go to the site's main page rollingout.com and check out the top of your browser's window it says "Black News, Celebrity Videos, Entertainment, Business & Politics." Browsing this for a minute I found 2 pictures of caucasian people, Ted Nugent and a LEO. They were blasting Uncle Ted for his opinion on saint Trayvon Martin. The rest of the pictures linked to news article were about African Americans and other racial minorities.

Incredible the extent they will go to turn anything into a race issue. This guy showed no racial bias in his actions. He straight up sent one kid after another off for kickbacks. I wont go so far as to say there were no black kids involved but as topsy pointed out all of the kids who agreed to do interviews when this case was in the spotlight were white.

Jah please accept my apology. Somewhere between reading, pressing reply and typing I had a brainfart.

28 years isn't punishment enough.

Due to the authority and respect of his position, and the importance of the oath he swore, he should be drawn and quartered, or hung as a traitor at best.
