Anyone own one? Cant find one in any of the box stores around here, so i got to hit some small guys. Arthritis is getting worse and I like the idea of 30 rounds of 22mag

I got one but haven't shot it yet. I did get to shoot one that belongs to a friend and really liked it. So I walked into my local shop one day and there was one sitting in the case so I grabbed it. They're still hard to come by. They told me they get an average of one every three months at the shop. Prices are also artificially inflated because of their scarcity. Street price should be around $350 but on gunbroker they sometimes go for double that.

If you have the patience give it time. The PF9 was like this for a while. The RFB and KSG will be like this for a long time.

Anyone seen the carbine based on the PMR 30?

You can always get on a waiting list some where. You should try calling Richard at Mechanicsburg Ordnance. He might actually be able to track one down in a reasonable time frame.

Bought one in late 2011 or early 2012, one of the "post-recall" models with all the then-latest mods and improvements. Sold it about five-six months later.

Pros:
-Extremely accurate and the sights were well-regulated.
-I can't recall a FTF or FTE on CCI 40 gr TMJ or Winchester FMJ.
-30 rds of 22 magnum in the magazine. It may be a 22 Magnum, but 30 of them will more than get someone's attention.

Cons:
- The PMR 30 is a flamethrower; firing at dusk flashblinds you.
- The grip is really wide in the fore-and-aft dimension, and thin from side-to-side. Kinda uncomfortable. Think: CZ52 grip.
- Spits lots of hot, burning particles at your face, neck, arm, wrist, and hand when the breech opens. Somewhat annoying, and it breaks your concentration.
- You get the impression that the pistol is insufficiently robust to handle the 22 Magnum -- this is an "impression", as in a train of thought like, "Gee, I wonder if this is going to hold together or come apart as I'm shooting?" I don't get that when I'm shooting my S&W 648 or Ruger Super Single-Six Convertible.
- The answer to that question is "It comes apart while shooting." I sold the PMR 30 with it's third (3rd) takedown pin installed, and a spare one in the carry case. The original TD pin and its immediate replacement both broke in two at the necked-down area in the center of the pin, after shooting between 250 and 650 rds. I'm sure the pin breaking issue could probably be corrected by radiusing the necked area and spending some time optimizing the heat treating, but that's up to Kel-Tec, not me.

PMR is a great pistol for many reasons. I liked mine because recoil was very mild and how can you complain about 30rd mags?

You should look at Richland Shooters or Shyda's...both places won't cheat you on pricing. I know both shops get the PMR as I bought mine from Richland last year.
