Lancaster City Court House?
#1
So I finally talked my friend into getting his LTCF Big Grin I decided not to carry my gun in there with me because I didn't want to cause any issues while my friend was getting his permit. So while I was standing there with the two guards emptying my pockets I happen to see a sign that I thought said "No concealed Weapons". I could have misread it and I couldn't read the rest of the sign, my vision isn't the greatest. I thought I've read before that you can take a firearm into a court house and then put it in a lock box. Has anyone ever done this at the court house downtown on Duke St in Lancaster? If so whats with the sign? And my bigger question is what exactly the procedure I do when walking in CC'ing?

Since the flood of permit applicants they were unable to do it all right there and reverted back to the way I had to do where you wait for a post card and come back in.

Side note: there were about 9 people in there getting LTCF's and 4 of them were womenTwothumbsup

So I was thinking since we have to go back anyways, if anyone has done this and can explain the procedure I thought maybe I would carry there.

Yes, you may check your firearm at the Courthouse. Tell them that you're armed, they'll ask just to see that you have your LTCF, but they won't record any information. They'll escort you to the lockboxes where you can put your firearm in the locker. They'll give you a claimcheck and send you on your way. When you need to get it back, just go back to the checkpoint and tell them you'd like to retrieve your firearm.

Last time I was in, I had no problems with it.

CJC in Philly records the time, date, your name, license number, and locker number (whichever locker you choose to store your firearm in). They let you hold onto the numbered locker key.

Thanks streaker, it's good to hear someone else that has went through the process there. I think when I go back with him to get his photo done and everything I won't be leaving my firearm at home.
