Lancaster Mayor Wants Your Guns - Mayors Against
#1
Here is the latest letter from Bloomberg's group, Mayors Against All Guns. This time is it from the mayor of Lancaster, PA.

Dear Bob,

As a mayor, the worst call I can get is when someone in my city is murdered with a gun.

My first responsibility is to keep people safe, but our national gun laws are broken and gun violence is out of control. Dangerous people can buy guns with no background check and no questions asked -- and the penalties for crossing state lines and re-selling guns are so weak that they don’t stop trafficking.

It’s time to Demand Action from Congress.

I’m a proud member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a coalition of more than 900 mayors in 45 states who have come together to fix our broken gun laws.

Take a minute to watch a short video we recorded with mayors from across the country and join us in telling your members of Congress that you DEMAND ACTION to end gun violence.

Thanks for joining this fight,

Mayor Rick Gray
Lancaster, PA

Another mayor that blames the problems in his toilet of a city on those outside of it.
My guns have killed less people than Obama's ATF has.

streaker - does this call for a mass email campaign, a mass snail mail campaign or just a mass bad publicity campaign? I leave it up to you guys who live in this idiot's neck of the woods how this should be addressed.

Having met him not too long ago, I found him to be a smug arrogant asshole, and there ain't anything that can be said to change his mind. Lancaster City, like most cities has been on a steady decline for the past couple of decades. Ineffective policing, IMO, is the biggest issue.

If you've never been here, Lancaster City isn't big. You can drive from South Queen Street (Willow Street Pike) to North Queen Street where it meets the Train Station at McGovern Street in about 7 minutes if you get all the lights green. East to West it's about 10 minutes, so you can see it isn't large.

There are areas of the city that are crime ridden of course, but seldom do you see a cruiser in those areas unless they're already on a call. I really haven't see them just patrolling through. The city really isn't that busy with crime either, so I don't really see much reason for the lack of general patrols. It's rare to see a car south of Vine street on Prince/Queen, and it's equally rare to see them east of Duke.

But that doesn't stop them from allocating 6 cars to setup a speed trap on North Prince street. I'm not going to say that the police need to be everywhere, but the amount of crime that happens in the "Loop*" is minimal compared to the rest of the city, but that's where you'll see most of the cars, most of the time.

I can attest to everything he says here being 100% true (not that that's ever in question). If you're in the area just go around the whole city.

Of course, the common denominator amongst Leftards. It's what sets them apart. Nose in air AND a bowtie....case closed.

Which is what I do most of the time, just go around. I only go through if I absolutely have to. I thought the speed trap on North Prince was probably about the silliest thing I saw them do. They set it up late morning, not even during rush hour.

I have a lot of gripes about how that city has been run, and one of my biggest is the stupid stadium that they built.

I just remembered that a certain Lancaster City PD officer was arrested a few years ago at a family event. I just looked it up and there's no record of the arrest. Odd....

That's because fighting crime doesn't increase revenue.

These mayors are against guns because they want police to be ticket givers, not law enforcement, and they think that if guns were illegal the police wouldn't have to "waste their time" doing things that take away from bringing money into the city via parking & speeding tickets .
