Let the newest round of panic buying commence...
#1
Panic buyers are at it again.
Didn't learn a damn thing from post SandyHook days.

Instead of buying for the last couple years here and there, they jump up and max out their credit cards just because the Big O opens his trap.

It's funny and sad all in one.

OK, that's my rant for today.

Hmmmm. I've got my eye on a new motorcycle. Perhaps it's time to fleece this flock of panic buyers.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

Obama is the best gun salesman in the US but he causes the prices to go up. But then, what do you expect from the majority of the people that DO NOT follow the news, study what happened in the past and don't talk to people in the know (gun dealers).

Yes, the gun dealers are going to reap the rewards in the short run, but after everything dies down, and the sheeple try to sell the over priced guns they bought, they will ultimately blame the gun dealers and then sales will be flat for a good long time.

Panic buying hurts EVERYONE in the end, but people just don't want to listen.

When the Sandy Hook Bamic happened, I told my customers to just wait, Obama had too much on his plate to do anything about guns. Some people waited it out and some didn't. Those that didn't paid the price and then whined when their over priced guns were only worth half what they paid.

Agreed. You'll always have your ants and grasshoppers.

I look at ammo like it's a commodity. Ever since the 2008 panic I've kept a percentage of my ammo stash with the idea of selling it if there's another run. This paid a nice dividend during the 2012-13 ammo shortage. Once things got back to normal (excluding 22LR) I restocked again for when the next freak out happens.

I know a lot of people look at this as gouging but to me it's no different then buying a stock on S&P when it's undervalued and cashing in when it becomes the next Amazon or Facebook.

I have greatly increased my ammo stock by going to the range. I can spot the newbies, who fire several boxes of new ammo and most don't even bother to police up, let alone take home to reload. I just scored 100 spent brass .40 cal. casings. Last time I went, 50, .45 ACP. I've reloaded 500 rounds of .40 cal. reloads in a short amount of time. Last week I did buy some ammo. I scored another brick of .22 LR. Reloading 5.56 now!

I need to get one of those brass pick up wheel tools I've seen in catalogs. Our range is a smorgasbord after a training class has been done for various police departments and such. I can sort the steel out later and sell the brass I don't use for scrap.

Our ammo stock is low. We just don't have extra money for that. But I think for 2016 we are going to try to budget 1-2 boxes per month. We need to stock up on our .45 GAP ammo for the Glock that was given to us, since that's great for home defense. Then just rotate 9mm, .380, and .22 purchases.

We also need to get to the range more. We paid for a membership and have hardly gone. Sigh.

My dad has 37 ammo boxes now in his house all neatly stacked and organized and he's got a supply for every single item he owns.

He is happily sitting out the panic buying.

You know what price doesn't go up during all these panic waves?

Targets.
