Lib positions are ridiculous; why not ridicule them?
#1
Just posted this in the comment section of a lame opinion piece in a local paper. I'm so sick to fucking death of politicians who have to "do something" to solve a problem, claim credit for fixing it, and when it doesn't work, come back to fuck us some more. Logic and facts don't work, so I'm switching to ridicule.

Yes, a gun ban is a great idea. Guns are already banned for felons. They're banned for minors. They're banned from schools, malls, and theaters. They're banned for the mentally ill. They're banned for buyers who don't submit to or pass a background check. They're banned for people who don't have licenses to carry. They're banned from transportation in cars in most instances. All we need is one more ban. The previous 20,000 gun laws didn't work, but the next one will.

Yes, bring back the "assault weapons" ban. Ban the pistol grip and adjustable stock; everyone knows guns with pistol grips and adjustable stocks are so much more deadly. Ban the flash hider. Ban the 30-round magazine. After all, the shooter could never have slaughtered a classroom of helpless kids with 10-round magazines that could be swapped out in two seconds.

Don't give responsible people access to guns in the school - what a farce that would be! Lock the doors. Teach the children to duck-and-cover. Let the brave teachers and administrators confront the shooter with ball point pens and paperclips. Feel good that you did what you could to protect the children. You passed another law and you trained the teachers. You did everything you could.

Except for the one thing that works - confronting evil with deadly force.

That one always struck me as especially stupid. Smaller mags means you carry more mags and swap them out. Yeah, that'll stop 'em.

It's like New York City's soda ban. Okay, so I can't buy a 32 ounce soda. I guess I'll have to buy 3 12-ounces soda cans. Rolleyes

As ridiculous as the mag statement is, we must read very lightly in pointing out the fallacy in that argument.

The next logical conclusion for them to make is that there shouldn't be any multi round mags and rifles should be limited to single shot.

They might be a little slow on the uptake, but we practically hand them that argument when we point out how easy it is to carry a lot of mags and swap them out.

Or the argument that's now circulating fast and furious amongst the smarmy crowd: "The founding fathers only had muskets and that's what they meant! The second amendment only guarantees the right to carry muskets!".

Awesome write, but I agree with Halftrack on the mag thing, just gives them another target.

Only other problem is, deaf people can't hear.

WE MUST STOP ALL SENIOR CITIZENS WITH GUNS. I MEAN THEY ARE SENILE AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO OPERATE THEM SAFELY.

WATCH.
