Local woman chases burglar into the woods....
#1
Uhhhh...okay. I'm glad the guy got caught. But this lady was...well....let's just say I don't think I would have done what she did. Chase a bad guy into the woods?! Without a gun?! REALLY?! Sigh. She was lucky. Even if he did end up having a toy gun...he had a real knife.

Sounds like she had some decent money too....that or on welfare and spent her cash on Coach bags and jewelry. Ha. JUST kidding. I hope.

Admittedly though, I guess, had she had a gun, she would not have been able to chase him into the woods...well she could have, but she would not have been able to shoot at him as a retreating person. So either way, it did no good to make the chase. Except that it had the best possible ending in this particular case.

Quote:A Bristol Township homeowner interrupted a burglar and chased the suspect into the woods, where police said they caught up with him.
The homeowner found the man inside her Oaktree Drive house shortly before 3:30 p.m. when she returned home, police said.
As she chased the suspect, he threw down her Coach handbag, which he found in the living room of her house, according to a probable cause affidavit. He then tossed a digital camera over her fence into the backyard, police said.
The chase continued into the woods, where the woman said she saw the suspect with what appeared to be a handgun as he crossed a stream. She stopped chasing him, police said.
Police and a K-9 unit were directed by the woman to the area she last saw the suspect. Police found him near Overbrook Lane and took him into custody...........

Chasing him with a gun wouldn't have been any wiser.

I know, read the second half of my OP....I pointed out that it wouldn't have been good either way, and she was lucky it ended well.

However at least if she had had a gun and he turned to attack her, she may have had a chance of not dying.

What's amazing about this story is that the police was able to catch the guy with out locking down a whole city violating people 4th admendment rights. Oh also they didn't need 10000 police and national guard to do it. Just a K-9 unit
