Loyola Students: Prof Required Us to Attend Van Jones Lecture
#1
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/...es-Lecture

An event this past Wednesday at Loyola University Chicago featuring former Obama administration official Van Jones strayed far from the marketed title of “2013 MLK Celebration,” instead encouraging students to embrace a “new patriotism” and the “ugly-unequal founding” of America.

Several students reported that they were compelled by their “environmental sustainability” professor to attend the radical lecture—students who up until that evening told me they had no prior familiarity with Van Jones. One student interviewed said approximately thirty students attended this class.

My last semester at Temple I just needed credits to graduate (I all ready met my academic requirements). I took a "green class" because I heard it was easy and it fit into my schedule. My professor was your typical Macbook carrying, bike riding, we must go green and save the world dbag hipster. Anyways, Van Jones was giving a presentation or speech at either Temple or the Franklin Institute and my professor said if we went, then he'd give us extra credit. Now I've always been a critic of the class and never hesitated to express my opinions about how certain green things wouldn't work in the real world (He always complained about how the US is crap compared to Europe in terms of green energy). Anyways, I raised my hand and went off about how Van Jones is a jerk off. It just pisses me off because I know a lot of the students would have went to go see him speak and ate up all of his bullshit. It's kind of sad how gullible college kids can be.

Which explains exactly why they are targeted by the left for indoctrination. After all, mom and dad can't be that smart, they're working for the man. Angry

College kids should be able to make up their own minds. It wouldn't be the first distasteful thing a prof forced on a student.

If it's required, either go or not and face the related consequences.

If hitler was giving a speech I'd require my students to go and if ron paul was giving a speech I'd require them to go too. If Romney was giving a speech, obama, whoever...

In order to form a good opinion you need to see all sides..
