I need a machete, due to the fucking jagger bushes all over the places that I hike. I want something American Made. I'm looking at this;

I like made in U.S.A., but yikes those are pricey. They do look well made though from good steel.

For function, value and decent quality I like the Condor Tool and Knife machete's. Most come with a leather sheath which is durable enough, where as most in their price range come with a cheap barely protective nylon sheath if any.

Made in El Salvador though... Undecided

You wouldn't be able to run as many people over with that car if it didn't drive as far. It should only have a 10 gallon fuel tank.

I have a military knock-off. It's not marked (visibly) where it's made. Sharpens and holds an edge well. Made of carbon steel.

Note that this particular one is made in the US.

I also have a Meyerco stainless machete made in China. It a brute but it's a bitch to sharpen.

Lastly, I have a Cold Steel, also imported. It was cheap. Carbon steel again that sharpens easily and holds an edge well.

Being that every machete I've ever had has hit something it shouldn't, I don't like to spend much on them.

I'd ask Jason what kind he carries. Seems to do well through all the hard and soft bits.

I was just looking at those on Amazon. Can't beat the price. I may have to add another one to the group.
