Mark Kessler Suspended, To Be Fired?

And right after the borough council meeting, during which Kessler was suspended without pay for 30 days on a 5-1 vote, there was an impromptu gun rights rally. Those bearing arms huddled in a circle and began chanting.

"When are they going to take your rights?" a man's baritone voice boomed.

"Never!" vowed the crowd, in unison.

A State Police helicopter was spotted hovering over the borough building as he gun-carrying crowd gathered, but there was no police presence at the scene.

And while Kessler enjoyed his share of support from those who hail his Second Amendment leadership and vigorous video defense, the chief had detractors among some residents brave enough to speak out.

"He was way across the line," said Wade Greg Necker, who lives just outside the 700-resident borough. "He's a nut. I do not feel safe with him around at all."

So the full auto guns are the towns? Why does this one cop town have several full auto weapons?

I think I know why he has them. The better question is how did he purchase them with apparently no oversight from the town. The town council should have been asking why he needed them.

Your saying that he bought them for the town using the towns funds?

If they were purchased by the PD, it would stand to reason that they were paid for by town funds. I think it's obvious that he was given carte blanche to buy "what he needed" without much oversight by anyone. Otherwise, someone would have been asking why does a 0 horse town with 1 cop need FA weapons.

I was thinking they may have been in the towns possession before he came to the office.

In case a notorious drug cartel leader has to drive through town in a stealthed out Corvette. Hey! That would make a cool movie.

Drug Cartels are big business in PA. Just ask AG Kane. Wink
The Second Amendment does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not infringe our right.

Quote:Officials have said that Kessler bought the weapons with his own money and donated them to the police department, an action approved by the council. Kessler told PennLive.com on Wednesday that he also donated the ammunition used in the videos.

Did he pay the private citizen price for those, or did he pay the cop price? I find it difficult to believe that he paid the private citizen price for them, and then happily donated them to the PD.
