Well, I ran across an older Marlin scope for sale that may be better than what's on this now and is fairly close to the same vintage.

A Marlin model 400A 4x32, 1" tube - looks to be in decent shape from the pics.

It's $25/$30 shipped but it doesn't include the rings/mounts.

Can I assume I will be able to buy scope rings that will work OK on this?
I'm not going to be stuck searching the web for some funky "Marlin-specific" hardware am I?
Huh

Your LGS store should have anything you need to mount that up. I'm not aware of anything Marlin specific. About as technical you will have to get is if you still want use the iron sights.

Nah. I have over/under mounts on my Plinkster and I don't care for it because of the need to move your head up to use the scope.

Besides. This rifle doesn't HAVE a rear sight.

(I missed out on one last week on Ebay. It sold for $107.50 and looked well used)

You'll have to settle for the seller's pics posted above until I get rings to mount it.

It's in perfect condition. I wasn't really expecting perfection for a scope as old as I am.
