Mason Jar Vacuum sealer
#1
Mrs. Spblademaker got me one of these this Christmas. My friend had one that I tried out earlier this fall. I use it when storing herbs and spices for the long term. I am going to try storing some home-made jerky in the jars with O2 and desiccant packs to see how long it will stay fresh.

I have both of them (regular and wide mouth). I use it for lots of different dry foods like quick oats, pasta, etc.

Have you tried to vac seal marshmallows?

The system works well to marinate meats.

If you haven't done marshmallows, do it, it's always good for a laugh.

Just try it and see, it's really funny.

I've been using them for a couple of years, I have pictures of stuff I did in m Basic Staples and their Storage Thread.

Sure do.

When we first got ours we went on a vac sealing binge. I did oyster crackers. They snapped and cracked for weeks. Not the best idea.

I did it and video'ed it. Nothing interesting to see. The egg shell is strong enough to withstand the vacuum on the outside.
