Mayors Against Illegal Guns-Rally in YORK, PA!

Got to drive past in between commitments. Looked like a nice crowd, maybe as much as if not more than the anti- group across the street. Unfortunately I didn't have time to stop...

We really did have a good turn out, lots of signs and flags, a couple rifles, a lot of open carry. I never did an actual head count but maybe, 2 dozen or so? It looked like about half the MAIG attendance was the media! The were 2 full camera crews and several print reporters.

They'll want to talk about being "grass-roots" yet their signs were all professional lithography while ours were all hand-made.

We even had one man and woman walking their dog together speak with us briefly, said he wanted to join us but couldn't as he flashed a quick shot of his CC piece before walking on! Big Grin

I think Shisno counted 20 in our group before the speakers started. We had 4 more people show up that I saw. Your 2 dozen estimated is pretty much spot on.

Yeah, I noticed that most of their group looked to be press. The police chief was speaking when I drove past. I did see you, Jim, and it looked like someone had a long gun - maybe gnbrotz? Looked like possibly him from a recent pic I saw of him OC a shotgun. I pulled over at the end of the block and thought about running back to join you guys, but my daughter brought me back to reality reminding me I didn't have the time...LOL

I did have a couple of good comments and conversations regarding my OC from some people I interacted with today while I was out and about, so that's a plus...

We also had 2 guys show up after the speakers got started so that would put us at 26. Cool

I think there were only 2 with rifles, Shisno and Howard Bullock. Greg was not there today. I know in the past you have not open-carried on a regular basis, so I'm glad you are seeing positive experiences.

By the way, how's your "flipping arm"? We need another BBQ! There have been Maryland folks on the Maryland Shooters forum expressing an interest and it would be really cool to be able to host them for an eye-opener!

Now that it's summer I'll be OCing more. Actually, most of my carrying time is now OC. I just feel more comfortable that way.

I'm game for a cookout. Let's try and set something up!

I'm really happy with the turnout we had. Especially with such short notice. Unfortunately a few people that I did get confirmation on about coming didn't show. But just gotta roll with it.

Also there were three rifles in attendance. There was me (sporting my much superior vz 58 Big Grin), Howard, and another member on PAFOA named cosmo/dci both with ARs

And I would love a BBQ sometime. I just hope it's posted on both forums since I don't frequent this one much. My work schedule is also usually made a month in advance so a long notice would be appreciated.

Thanks again to all who made it
When the zombie apocalypse comes, I'll try my best to contain my excitement.
