McCain: Shouting 'Allahu Akhbar!' Same as Christians Shouting 'Thank God!'

On Tuesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) suggested that Fox News host Brian Kilmeade was Islamaphobic because he said that Syrian opposition groups shouting “Allahu Akhbar! Allahu Akhbar!” as rockets hit government offices demonstrated Islamist influence among the opposition.
“I have a problem helping those people screaming that after a hit,” Kilmeade said. McCain responded: “Would you have a problem with an American or Christians saying ‘thank God? Thank God?’” He added, “That’s what they’re saying. Come on! Of course they’re Muslims, but they’re moderates and I guarantee you they are moderates.” McCain provided no evidence to suggest that Syrian opposition groups are moderate, as opposed to the wide swath of evidence suggesting that the opposition is heavily infested with al Qaeda.

McCain has become a useful idiot that both sides use when needed.

McCain IS an idiot, but he is at least right this time. What exactly seems to be the issue here?

Oh, I forgot, all muslims are terrorists and comparing a couple snackbars taken out of context to something a christian might say is crossing the line. Oh, and let's not forget the people we are talking about here as well, the Syrian rebels. Yep alqaeda from the start all right, every last one of them. Just like the IRA was an evil terrorist organization like the msm and history books would have you believe too...

What I take from this:

Maybe if people didn't believe that an imaginary man in the sky is happy when they kill people, there would be less people being killed in the world.

Yes, because Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao were praying to the Spaghetti Monster when these atheists killed over 40 million people.

They didn't kill people for their atheism.

Contrast that with, say, the inquisition.

Besides, there's evidence to suggest that they saw themselves as deity.

Point being that one does not need religion to kill or be killed, and there is more than enough evidence to suggest that people will use whatever justification they can even if it is contrary to the religion/theory they claim they are killing for.

People like to point to the inquisition as proof that Christianity kills, but nowhere in Christianity is a doctrine which teaches or justifies a "join us or we will kill you" stance.

The inquisition also resulted in the deaths of other Christians who did not follow the Catholic Church, and since Christianity does not teach that we need to "torture non Catholics an unbelievers for Christ" you can see it was more of power grab by the institution of the Catholic church than it was killing in the name of Jesus.

And out of curiosity--if the Inquisition is killing in the name of religion to advance the cause of the church which is not representing the true viewpoint of the religion, how is killing to advance the cause of non-religion not an atheistic viewpoint?
