Quote:Leone said he was able to wriggle his hands loose before convincing Cutrufelli to let him use the bathroom. He then grabbed one of the five handguns from his bedroom and spotted Cutrufelli in his closet. Cutrufelli, in turn, allegedly fired his gun, striking Leone in the jaw. Leone then fired back before Cutrufelli wrestled his gun away and put the gun to Leone’s head and pulled the trigger — but no bullets remained in the gun.

Both men were hospitalized for an extended period following the gun fight. Cutrufelli claims Leone caused him “great bodily injury, and other financial damage, including loss of Mr. Cutrufelli’s home, and also the dissolution of Mr. Cutrufelli’s marriage,” the newspaper reports.

And the lesson here, don't stop shooting until you are out. And don't run out.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

That and don't ever get caught with five guns in your bedroom and zero on your person.
The law? The law is a human institution...

I read the article at work, and I believe the meth monkey claimed he was negligently shot.

Negligent? Only thin negligent is leaving him walking.

"Cutrufelli could face life in prison if convicted of the charges. His lawyer, Sanford Troy, said Cutrufelli is a methamphetamine user, that the incident was a drug deal gone sideways, and that Leone shot him in the back when he was trying to flee."

Well if the 90 year old was a drug dealer, and he did shoot the other guy in the back, Curtrufelli has a point.

Nope, looks just as asinine when I type it out as it sounds when I say it out loud.

I would say no way in the world could any sane judge or jury allow this to go anywhere, but it's California so who knows with their crazy interpretation of laws, events and life.

I'm thinking the life in prison is about the only part of the quote that makes any sense.
Everytime we look the other way when someone else loses rights we disagree with, we make it easier to lose the rights we support.

Agree. It was negligent to only wound him. He should be dead.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.
