Gun control advocate Michael Moore thinks that Americans should only be permitted to own muskets, a stance that would instantly criminalize nearly 100 million firearms owners. His message for everyone else? “If you are worried about your safety, get a dog.”

The maker of Bowling for Columbine was asked by We Are Change’s Luke Rudkowski what his stance was on the argument that Americans should have the right to own firearms in order to protect themselves against criminals, who will always find a way to get guns no matter what the law says.

“There’s nothing wrong with the second amendment, as written, and as intended at that time – I think everybody has a right to own a musket,” said Moore as he smirked and laughed.

each time fecal matter spews forth from that person's mouth, the more i realise that his depiction in 'team america:world police' was less a caricature and more a portrait.

How come whenever the country faces an important serious question, the press seeks out the biggest fricking douchebag they can find to offer his opinion? Then publish it as if it holds more weight than a village idiot?

Because the press are bigger fools than the idiot they choose to represent them.

The irony is that these same types of people who would say "get a dog" are the very same people who would march on Washington to enact "dangerous dog laws" after everyone GOT A DOG THAT WAS WORTH A DAMN AS A GUARD DOG.

I have a dog. He will give you kisses, but he's not going to deter a bad guy.
THAT is the only kind of dog these people want.

Am I wrong?

I realize I'm reading into this too much, because his "get a dog" statement isn't REALLY a suggestion, so much as an attempt to make gun owners look "unreasonable".

And how do we protect ourselves from tyrannical politicians, and the sheep that want their lives controlled by them?

That’s right get a gun.

Yeah until the cops come by and shoot it.

Or you can get a nice family dog like we did (although akitas have bad reps) and they can bark mean and look scary but that's about as far as it goes. Especially if the bad guy has a gun and shoots it. Shrug

With any luck, a heart attack or diabetes will take him to meet The Maker. Then he's really in trouble!

If we lie to the government, it's a crime. If the government lies to the people, it's called politics.
