Missouri schools arming teachers

pistol
I think this is great. (Although I see in the links above that a Missouri Dem also wants to force parents to tell the school if they own guns. Interesting.)

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/06/22/mis...classroom/

Quote:For a $17,500 fee, districts get 40 hours of training on how to use a Glock 19 semi-automatic pistol for two staffers at a hilltop range in the Ozarks town of West Plains, the Kansas City Star reported. Instructors are current law enforcement officers with Shield Solutions.

The company’s founder, Greg Martin, told the Star only school district administrators and local law enforcement will know the identity of the teachers trained to pack heat.

“Like air marshals on planes,” Martin told the newspaper. “How many hijackings have we had since 9/11?”..........................

.......................But not everyone thinks it’s a good idea to arm teachers.

“We would be asking school officials, trained as educators, to make a quick transition from teacher to SWAT member, arrive on the scene, assess the situation, overcome the severe nervousness that naturally accompanies a deadly force incident and take immediate action before blood is shed,” G.A. Buie, a Kansas high school principal and the president-elect of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, told the Star.

Last quote is horrible logic against it. Dumb.

Well, I would feel safer sending my child to a school where every teacher is armed.

You would think that at the least, all the science and math teachers would be for it... Can you guess why?

Reading, writing and target practice?

Some Missouri school districts have decided the best way to thwart a massacre like the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012 is to train teachers to carry concealed weapons in the classroom.

I'm confused...aren't teachers nothing more than overpaid government shills who are inept at their jobs and using their power to do nothing but push liberal agendas because they hate freedom?

If so, why would we want to arm them and train them to take down other armed people??

Not all of them are. There are "good teachers". I mean, they may seem like unicorns or white buffaloes or peaceful Muslims in their rarity... But they do exist.

My sister in law is a teacher and she is pro gun and anti common core. But she works in a charter school.

Actually, I do ALL the cooking for my ladies. And I iron, sew, clean the house, and change diapers.
