Not seeing a whole lot other than she was in her early thirties, 22 weeks pregnant, 2 other kids, death by shotgun. As the DA, what do you do with that? I do find it questionable that he remains a police officer after that. I know that if I was the Chief, and that happened to one of mine, if nothing else he'd be getting some sort of psychological evaluation, at minimum, before he'd be allowed to return to duty, providing I couldn't let his butt go outright. I'm sure some union rep would cry foul.

ABC news footage included on corruption and criminal action of police officer. Plenty of clear crimes almost zero arrests of police officers...

Yes, he should have shot the machete out of his hand.

He was probably feeling self-conscious about wearing fall colors in the spring/summer. Tongue

Again snippets. For all we know the knife guy lunged at the officer. In the military we were taught 21 feet. Anyone closer than 21 feet to you poses a SERIOUS THREAT no matter what the weapon. Try it. Holster a weapon, let someone stand 21 feet away from you. See if you can clear the holster, take aim, and pull the trigger before they tap you on the shoulder. You would not believe the number of people who fail. Most concentrate too much preparing for their own defense with their left arm, rather than concentrating on getting the weapon clear if the holster....
Oh yes, the weapon is already drawn...
Still people panic, and now the guy is down to 10 feet, jawing the whole time he is moving closer. 3/4 of second to recognized and react, and he's got a good 5 foot jump on you. Yes, you manage to get off a round and with his last dying breath he manages to stab you through your eye socket with he knife in his hand. No thanks. If the weapon has to come out, we're not going to jaw all day, otherwise it shouldn't be pulled to start with. If it does come out, you shoot center mass long enough to put the threat down. Standard issue, right there.

I find it interesting that everybody is talking about that guy in NY who was choked to death on the ground by police. Anyone notice the crime he was accused of? Selling untaxed cigarettes! Uh oh selling merchandise that doesn't have the king's stamp on it! Can't have that happen he must die!
