MP5 Style Stock for AR15?
#1
Has anyone ever seen an HK MP5 style collapsible stock for AR15's? I'm thinking that this would be kinda cool if you can get around the buffer tube issue! LOL!

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

You could probably make something work, but you'd never shoot .223 out of it because of the buffer tube. But you could do .22lr out of it with a conversion kit, since they don't use the buffer tube.

I bet you could use a buffer tube of maybe even a short pistol buffer tube....the stock just wouldn't be able to collapse all the way to the receiver.

One, they sell a folding stock setup for the 5.56 ARs. It replaces the buffer tube. Second, the HK stock sucks for anything more than 9mm as it's too damn narrow to get a decent cheek weld and it's painful to get smacked in the face with one. Third, I doubt it would work on an AR because of the design of the controls. The stock would hit one thing or another while collapsed. Fourth, they do make them for AKs. They're rare but they exist.

You can probably do an MP5 style stock on a Para TTR, it uses a "Delayed Impingement Gas System" which does away with the buffer tube. Check it out: http://www.para-usa.com/new/product_rifl...e.php?id=1

Probably more money than your looking to spend but it's something to think about.

The buffer tube isn't the biggest problem. The location of the controls is the problem. You have the selector and mag release on the right side and the bolt catch/release on the left. The overall design of the AR makes an HK style stock basically impossible.

I guess the best option for an H&K style stock is to buy an H&K 33.

Haha yeah, It was just a conversational thought...I have no plans to actually attempt something. But it would look cool!
