Natural Born Citizen

Anyway, even if we keep Cruz out....that doesn't stop the Supreme Court for okaying a Mexican illegal in 8 more years if it benefits the liberals.

If the heart of the Constitituion is going to be changed anyway, I'd rather it be changed now and give the country one last fighting chance to make a turnaround, before it's destroyed forever.

There's an approved method for changing the Constitution, and it starts with an Article 5 convention (because the other approved method would require Congress to actually do their job; and they are part of the problem). There are already several efforts and proposals, Compact for America, Convention of States, and Mark Levin's outline in The Liberty Amendments.

The age old adage "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" holds true even in this.
"The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'" - Ronald Reagan

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money” - Alexis de Tocqueville

We all know it won't happen. We all know that the definition of "natural born citizen" will never be the same.

What remains to be seen is if they hold Cruz to the old definition, or allow him to join the Obama definition.

Granted. But McCain is not at issue here.

Isn't that the same for Cruz? I ask because I don't know.

No because McCain had two American parents and was born on an American owned military base, and had American citizenship. (I'm still appalled he was questioned more than Obama.)

Cruz was born in Canada by an American mom and Cuban dad, thus obtaining dual citizenship.

AFAIK......

I have American born parents but I was born on a NATO base in Portugal that the United States leases from Portugal. I have three birth certificates, one from the government of Portugal in Portuguese, one from the U.S. Navy (Air Force now runs the clinic I was born in), and one from the U.S. State Department.

I was a dual citizen of the United States and Portugal since birth until I turned the age of 18 when I registered for the draft which invalidated my Portuguese nationality under the constitution adopted under the Revolutionary period while my family lived in that country.

But I imagine if I ran for president I would have to explain how I could possibly be American or remotely eligible because my father was on a TDY serving this country's interest abroad and wasn't born in a Texas trailer park to two white people who are welfare cheats.

I'd say you have a better case than Cruz, Rubio or Obama. But why do you bring race into the picture? As long as your white trash welfare cheat parents are not illegal aliens you could be president.

You would have to agree that presidential candidates should be thoroughly vetted. You would not have to explain how you could be American, but there might be some argument about "natural born"
