NBC journalist David Gregory won't face charges

Absolute elitist BS. Not unexpected BS, but still, BULLSHIT!

He broke the law, and they are refusing to charge him, even going as far as making excuses for him. Anyone else charged with the same violation should be able to use the same logic, right? Dodgy

"NBC journalist David Gregory won't face charges for displaying what he said was a high-capacity ammunition magazine on his "Meet the Press" show.

D.C. Attorney General Irvin Nathan announced the decision Friday, saying criminal charges wouldn't serve the public's best interests and that the display posed no risk to public safety. But Nathan was clear that Gregory violated the District's ban on large capacity magazines."

As you said, no surprise here.

Unless future defense attorneys cite this as legal precedent, this country is officially finished. Dodgy

However, it would be funny to see a bunch of protesters descend upon DC, waving empty 30 round mags over their heads, and chanting. "David, David, David."
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.

This isn't a surprise, no, but look at it this way. No matter if he was charged or not our side can use it as proof of the absolute stupidity of such laws. The law-abiding can possess them without being a danger to anyone and those who want to flaunt the law can easily do so.

This case is actually the perfect example of the outright insanity of those bans. Realistically, whether he would face charges or not, we win.

What I'd like to see is anyone that has been charged in the past, present, and future, would have enough to cover the legal fees to fight any legal repercussions, and point specifically to this. I know it's not a legal precedence per say, but it exposes the stupidity. Especially since they inquired ahead of time about the legality of the magazine, and still defied the law. That is why he really should have been charged. IMHO

Just found the letter from the office of the AG.

And, when people cry out for more gun laws, the NRA can't point to this and say "enforce the existing ones first".
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

No surprise here. He shouldn't have been charged anyway. It would have been difficult to convict him due to the totality of the circumstances.

Um, he was in possession of - according to the liberal A-Holes of DC - an illegal object.

No surprises here. When the lights green, do you stomp on the brakes, jus' to be different?

Yea, right. He broke the law, on air, after being told it was illegal.

I'll say, politely as possible, what everyone else is thinking. You are an ass. IMHO

Wayne LaPierre, being a witness to the crime, could always testify against David Gregory as to whether it was an actual 30-round AR-15 magazine. I would also think his credentials would make him a firearms expert in the eye of the court too.........Gregory all ready hates LaPierre, so what respect does Wayne have to lose? Shrug
