NC UNIVERSITY MAY BAN CHICK-FIL-A FROM CAMPUS OVER GAY MARRIAGE STANCE

Instead of letting the free market system take care of the problem w/ this business (IF THERE REALLY IS A PROBLEM), those who accuse others of not practicing "live and let live".....are NOT willing to let someone w/ a contrary opinion "live and let live".

IRONIC

Quote:In the most recent drama to unfold, the student government at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, decided to ban Chick-fil-A from its campus.

According to the Daily Mail, the ban, which was circulated by Spectrum, a gay-straight alliance, passed the Student Government Association at the university 35 to 11

Quote:On Thursday, at a public hearing, The Daily Advance (via AP) reported that student Robert Orr made an intriguing point — that forcing Chick-fil-A to leave campus based on Cathy’s donations and views isn’t good precedent. He asked, “Is this university prepared to inspect the giving records of every person and entity that it is connected to?” Orr asked.

So far, the decision is still under consideration.

Uh, Chick-fil-A already stated they'd stop donating to the groups in question (which may have concluded the most brilliant marketing ploy ever!).

What is NCU hoping to accomplish with this, or have they just not gotten the news? Are they looking to punish the company for practices that they've already stopped?

One might argue that when it comes to the issue of gay rights, the goal is to punish those who disagree even after they no longer disagree.

Chik-fil-a hasn't changed anything. Despite what the Chicago newspapers reported. I distinctly recall a Chicago newspaper and Chicago political personality proclaiming that Chic-fil-a had agreed to no longer support those whom they previously supported, I also remember seeing that repeated on the internet. If it's on the internet, it must be true. A couple weeks later I heard Dan Kathy on the radio say that was a complete fabrication by the Chicago newspaper which the internet carried on as fact.
