Need Suggestions For CC 9mm
#1
I had my mind set on a Ruger SR9c but now I am hearing about many issues with them. I need a good 9mm for concealed carry. All sugestions welcome. Thank you. Dom I want 9mm because 1) It is what I am use to and 2) my arm cant handle the bigger calibers.

My Ruger SR9c has been flawless. Not one bump in the road. What problems are you hearing about?

I've got a hard chromed PF9 that I like a lot and haven't had any reliability issues with. I got a +1 extension from kel-tec and it's made a world of difference in my shooting to be able to wrap my pinky around the grip. My dad has a MP shield in 9mm that is also pretty nice, but larger. Of the two guns, the M&P is nicer, but IMO, not worth the extra $200.

I had a Kahr CM9 that was a bit softer shooting than the PF9, but fatter, heavier and held one less round. I sold it because I preferred the PF9. Everyone that I let shoot them next to each other agreed that the CM9 was better, but not $100-$150 better.

With little guns you're probably going to spend more time carrying them than shooting them. That's why I ended up with the easiest carrying 9mm I found. As far as recoil goes, I think it's more comfortable to shoot than my .380 LCP. I carry the PF9 in a Remora holster in my pocket or IWB.

I've actually been lusting after the Ruger LC9 as a backup gun to my XDm. The LCP is too small for my giant gorilla hands and the LC9 shares ammo with my main gun. If you shop around a bit, you can find the LC9 for under $350 without the laser sight and right around $400 with.

I heard the SR9c and SR40c is known for light primer strikes. My SR40c went bang every time, except I had a few problems with PMC ammo. If I could only have one 9mm, it'd be a Glock 19. There are a lot of holsters, mags (well, there use to be), and other aftermarket parts (sights, etc.). I've put well over 1,000 rounds through my G19 and it never malfunctioned. If you can conceal a G26, you can just as easily conceal a G19. You might as well get that little extra barrel and full grip because I think it does make a major difference.

I have both G19 & G26. Both are phenomenal guns. Love the G19....but EDC is the G26, with a spare 17 rd G19 magazine. Does everything a G19 does and carries easier.
Many shooters actually shoot it better, I do. Most noticeable regarding size to me is when driving and I carry LCP rear pocket, which the G19 contacts when sitting but, the G26 does not. Plus it clears the holster easier....JMHO.

I have a glock 19 and a Sig P250c for my 9mm pistols. Both of these models are mid-sized so the Glock 26 mentioned above may be the way to go.

I will definitely recommend the magazine grip extension for any compact Glock. I have one for my Glock 30 and it makes a world of difference in control and accuracy. The Glock 19 or Sig P250c offer full sized grips unless you have a giant hand, which might make a compact Glock even more difficult for good accuracy and control.

Just my $0.02 and best of luck,

Mike
