Nevada ranch the next Waco/Ruby Ridge?
#1
Got a phone call about this today voicing concerns about this from a good friend of mine. A quick Google search doesn't bring up much except from conspiracy websites I tend to ignore. Either the MSM is ignoring this or it's a non event.

Anyone have any further details about what's going on?

Here is what I could find so far...

Quote:Nevada Rancher Prepares To Die As Feds Invade

Cliven and Carol Bundy are the last ranchers in Clark County Nevada and if the environmentalist controlled EPA and Federal Law Enforcement have their way the Bundy’s will lose everything, maybe even their lives. Please help the Bundy’s in their fight against tyranny.
Just before the round-up began this weekend, Bundy said federal agents surrounded his 150-acre ranch. His son was arrested on Sunday in an incident involving the agents. “They’ve been bringing men in and equipment and setting up a compound,” Bundy told FoxNews.com Monday. “They got helicopters flying low. They got snipers around the ranch.
Our access to public lands has been blocked.” “We’re not pointing guns at anyone but we’re sure getting a lot of guns pointed at us.” – Carol Bundy, wife of Nevada rancher.
Bundy said he is worried BLM might try to turn the situation into another Waco or Ruby Ridge. “Yeah, there’s a little fear in me,” Bundy said. “They’re definitely set up to do that.”

Quote:Nevada Rancher Threatens "Range War" Over What He Sees as Illegitimate Bureau of Land Management Seizure of His Cattle

Officials say Bundy is illegally running cattle in the 600,000-acre Gold Butte area, habitat of the federally protected desert tortoise. Last year, a federal court judge ruled that if the 68-year-old veteran rancher did not remove his cattle, they could be seized by the BLM. That seizure began Saturday....

Federal authorities have closed off the Gold Butte area and are rounding up what they call “trespass cattle,” many of which belong to Bundy. By Monday, 134 cattle had been impounded....

Bundy says he "fired the BLM," and vows not to pay one dime to the agency that he accuses of plotting his demise.

A father of 14...Bundy has insisted that his cattle aren't going anywhere. He acknowledges that he keeps firearms at his ranch, 80 miles north of Las Vegas, and has vowed to do "whatever it takes" to defend his animals from seizure.

I read something on this in the news not long ago...story is he was letting his cattle graze on federal land after being told not to, and did nothing to stop it or prevent it.

Now they're going to take the cattle to make him stop.

I was hearing that the land wasn't always federal land and it had been seized from him because of an endangered species or something.

It's hard to find any real info on this though so take it with a grain of salt.

I guess he shouldn't have "fired" the BLM, because apparently they didn't get the pink slip.

Did finally dig up something from fox news' website. For what it's worth.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/04/...l-grazing/

Quote:Feds move in on Nevada rancher's herd over illegal grazing

For 20 years, a tough-as-leather Nevada rancher and the federal government have been locked in a bitter range war over cattle grazing rights.

This weekend the confrontation got worse, when the feds hired contract cowboys to start seizing Cliven Bundy's cattle, which have been grazing on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The government officials brought a show of force that included dozens of armed agents in SUVs and helicopters.
