New back door gun control...
The dear leader and his regime are trying once again using the pen and the phone to get a scary new angle on gun control through the back door while killing free speech! They are trying to make it so that if you want to post technical details about firearms on the internet, say the geometry needed to complete a receiver, technical diagrams for making your own guns, reloading data, perhaps information for machining barrels etc, you must ask the government "mother may I?" before you can put anything online.

Basically they want to kill forums like this one. They don't even want you to put PICTURES of guns online!

Read for yourself, this is terrifying. I so wish we had a congress with some fucking balls who would order the sgt at arms to take this bastard out of the White House in handcuffs! I really don't know how we can take even 1 more year of this traitorous dictator running our country.

Quote:Paragraph (b) of the revised definition explicitly sets forth the Department's requirement of authorization to release information into the ''public domain.'' Prior to making available ''technical data'' or software subject to the ITAR, the U.S. government must approve the release through one of the following: (1) The Department; (2) the Department of Defense's Office of Security Review; (3) a relevant U.S. government contracting authority with authority to allow the ''technical data'' or software to be made available to the public, if one exists; or (4) another U.S. government official with authority to allow the ''technical data'' or software to be made available to the public.

The requirements of paragraph (b) are not new. Rather, they are a more explicit statement of the ITAR's requirement that one must seek and receive a license or other authorization from the Department or other cognizant U.S. government authority to release ITAR controlled ''technical data,'' as defined in § 120.10. A release of ''technical data'' may occur by disseminating ''technical data'' at a public conference or trade show, publishing ''technical data'' in a book or journal article, or posting ''technical data'' to the Internet.

This proposed provision will enhance compliance with the ITAR by clarifying that ''technical data'' may not be made available to the public without authorization. Persons who intend to discuss ''technical data'' at a conference or trade show, or to publish it, must ensure that they obtain the appropriate authorization.

Start downloading those blueprints!

BTW this stupid fucking ITAR regulation also somehow makes it so that if I want to take my thermal camera out of the country I have to get special keep my legal private property with me.

I just wonder what it's going to take before congress finally drags this shithead out of the White House by the fucking Dumbo ears and puts him on trial for treason.

It's gonna take people in congress with spines.
All "great leaders" suppress the flow of information and the ability to speak/hear/read about what they plan to take away.

A million dollar fine and jail time for discussing tech specs online is genuine Emperor Palpatine level intimidation, and it will be time to begin.
tolerance for failure meter... LOW
If anyone needs 3D printer plans, let me know. Cool

Every day you think our world can't get any more crazy or out of control and every day this fucked up administration finds a way to shit on us from a new angle. I'm convinced that the only reason this bastard studied constitutional law between lines of cocaine was so that he would know exactly how to dismantle it. It just makes you want to scream every day that these outlandish things are going on and our rights are being destroyed, but all anyone wants to talk about is a man with a face lift and fake boobs and deflated footballs. A revolt will only start when something happens that directly effects Joe Sixpack's daily life and makes it so that he can't distract himself with the endless parade of vapid content on TV these days. The banks need to freeze, the post office needs to shut down from lack of funds, or air traffic controllers have to go unpaid and walk out, then people will sit up and take notice. I have no idea how long they can keep the plates spinning, even now analysts are saying if the country needs to be bailed out it might come from the IMF and enable the ponzi scheme of an economy to roll on a few more years.

More specifics on the other part of the pen and phone raft of gun control shit headed our way:

Quote:One of the rules–RIN: 1140 AA04–will expand persons barred from gun ownership and possession by including “misdemeanor crime of domestic violence” as grounds for forfeiting the right to “ship, transport, possess, or receive in or affecting commerce firearms or ammunition.” It would also make it “unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of a firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the recipient has been convicted of such a misdemeanor.”

Another rule–RIN: 1140 AA47–broadens the number of people barred from gun possession by expanding the ATF’s mental health provisions on background checks. The NRA pointed out that because most mentally ill persons pose no threat to society, the new regulations will actually become “snares [for] masses of mostly harmless individuals.”

Gun Owners of America’s Michael Hammond warns that under this rule the person barred from gun ownership “could be [someone] who spanked his kid, or yelled at his wife, or slapped her husband.”

Rule–RIN: 1140 AA41–impacts FFLs by creating new reporting requirements for lost or stolen guns as well as new reporting requirements for lost or stolen guns that have been recovered.

Lastly, rule–RIN: 1140-AA43–impacts trusts that hold firearms regulated under the National Firearms Act. The rule requires trusts, corporations or legal entities possessing the guns to produce a “responsible person” who can undergo a background for guns in probate, before they are passed to a descendant. This person would “complete a specified form” and “submit photographs and fingerprints” simply to hold the guns while the estate is settled.

Although I don't have a link, one of my coworkers left me an article yesterday, from the Wall Street Journal, showing where one of the Stereo-Lithography gun "printers", is now advertising a desk top CNC mill for $1500, and the AR lower receiver program. :-)
