New: Ruger American Rimfire Rifle
#1
Looks like Ruger came out with a new bolt action .22 rifle. You have your pick of .22LR or .22WMRF in a standard rifle size (22" barrel, 41" overall length) or compact rifle size (18" barrel, 35.75" overall length). It accepts 10/22 magazines, has an adjustable trigger (from 3 to 5 lbs), and a modular stock system as some of its highlighted features. MSRP $329.00. Link to Ruger website

Intriguing...., I may have to get one to put next to my Ruger American .308..., though I do love my Savage.

Why why WHY do they not have a threaded barrel option?

I'm never an early adopter of any platform, so I'll wait a bit for one to pop up used or go on sale somewhere. That said, from what I've seen so far I think one of these will compliment anyone's collection, especially if they already have a 10/22.

I especially like that the stock can be switched from short to long just by swapping the insert. That's exactly why I bought an adjustable AR type stock for my 10/22, to accommodate all sizes.

One of the local shops near me has them for 255.

I am going to purchase one for the kids and then purchase 2 more 10/22's and build them with the girls. Have to wait though, they are only 2 and 2nd girl due Dec 25th.. yes I am anxious!

The 2yr old already watches deer hunting shows with me. Tongue

There's some discussion over on Rimfirecentral.com regarding these, including a review. Seems the trigger doesn't adjust down to be quite as light as some of us would like.

Cool. First I've seen this.

The compatible magazine thing would have me buying one no questions asked if I already owned a 10/22.
