"New" to me Ruger New Model Blackhawk
#1
I just today purchased a "used" NM Blackhawk in .41 Magnum. I paid $400 for it... sort of. I traded in a couple of cheap pistols I haven't shot in a long time. I only paid $60 plus the trade for this today.

I say "used" because It looks like it's never been fired. There is just a hint of a turn line on the cylinder and when I cleaned it this evening, there was no evidence of fouling anywhere on it.

I was looking for one in .357 magnum but didn't find one. They had 2 of these in .45LC, but I already have another revolver in that caliber. I wanted something different so... This one came home with me today. Big Grin

The serial number is 48-63XXX. According to the Ruger website it was manufactured last year... maybe? Perhaps it was a Christmas gift that someone didn't like? I dunno... I can't wait to get it to the range.

Guess that answers my question of whether it is Single action or not. Very nice revolver. Hard to find.41 mag?

I bought it at Cabela's. They had 4 different kinds of .41mag ammo to choose from. I'm sure my LGS has it too.

I plan on making my own loads for it as well.

.357 has it's 38 Special.
44 Rem Mag has it's 44 Special.
I wonder why the 41 Rem Mag has no special.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

You can load them lighter to make your own... "special" version.

That's one of the first things I'm gonna do. I gotta find some nice wood for it.

Very nice I like the cowboy revolvers, but the load would scare me off...seems like it would be harder to come by than 45, but you say you have it covered. Agree on taking off the plastic grips, that looks like it needs something fancier.
