New York gun range in business for 73 years forced to close

THIS IS LIKE THE IDIOTS THAT BOUGHT HOUSES DOWN THE ROAD FROM ME RIGHT NEXT TO A RAIL ROAD SIDING THEN COMPLAINED ABOUT THE NOISE. das
A New York gun range has been forced to close its doors after more than 70 years in business, following a bitter dispute with its neighbors over noise and safety issues.

The Westchester Police Revolver and Rifle League, in Greenburgh, a nonprofit open-air range dating to the 1940s, was targeted by neighbors who wanted the facility closed, CBS New York reported. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/07/20/foe...latestnews

Reminds me of the neighborhood, in Avondale, that was built next to the mushroom plant. The owner of the mushroom plant erected a giant billboard overlooking the upscale development. The sign basically stated who they were, the fact they were on the other side of the hill, they were open about the odor their product emitted, they advertised that they had been in business for over 100 years and that they weren't moving.

Wicen's, here in Bucks County, has its share of pressure from NIMBY neighbors who moved in next to an outdoor range that's been in business since 1928 and just expected to close them down.

This is the same crap that General Aviation airports have put up with for more than half a century. We used to have several times the number of GA airports than we have left now.

Isn't that the place that had a few AK rounds make off their grounds and into said neighbors houses? That kind of nonsense doesn't help the cause any.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

They were indeed shut down temporarily because of that incident. That was before they tightened up on the range. They now keep a close eye out for idiots and careless people. It was in 2008. http://www.topix.com/forum/city/solebury...B8D9RHFJBR
