Squirt gun used in delivery driver robbery, police say

http://www.wgal.com/news/susquehanna-val...index.html

Quote:Allentown police said two men carrying guns approached the driver Saturday night. At least one of the guns was a squirt gun filled with an unknown substance.

Investigators said the men chased the driver and one squirted him in the eye, causing it to burn. The robbers then demanded his money and other items.

Are squirt guns really banned in NJ and Philly?

They are not banned in Philly. Neither are airsofts, bb, etc. I have a kid around the corner from me who has a knockoff full size toy AK that has a good enough paint job it can raise the hair on the back of the neck of stupids from over a block away. It's perfectly fine if you live in a place with enough room to shoot airsofts into your parent's garage.

C'mon how are you gonna have a summer block party shutting down the street and NOT having a super soaker fight?

Speaking of which... next weekend I'm invited to a real Fruit Ninja contest in a neighbor's back yard. With actual swords and real fruit. I dunno who is going to chuck the watermelon in the air but I'm not going to try to chop a watermelon. Maybe some oranges.

This is the sword we'll be using for guys who aren't bringing their own...

Well it wouldn't have surprised me in NJ, at least.

BB guns are banned in our township though here (Middletown Twp). Which stinks because I got my son one before I realized there was such thing as BB gun laws. Sigh.

Stinks because I saw a cool BB semi-auto handgun I would have loved to get the boys....

Does that also include plastic BBs?

Can't get the Middletown Twp ordinances to load fully on my computer for some reason, but found the text that I had posted over on PAFOA awhile back:

Quote:§ 242-102. Restrictions on use of air rifles, bow and arrows, similar devices.
[Amended 12-22-2008 by Ord. No. 08-06]
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any air rifle, air pistol, spring gun, spring
pistol, BB gun, bow and arrow, or similar device, or any implement that is not a firearm
but which impels a pellet of any kind with a force that can reasonably be expected to
cause bodily harm, at any place within the Township of Middletown, except as provided
in § 242-103 of this chapter, and except on a target range which is properly constructed to
trap or stop the projectile and appropriately buffered from adjacent properties so as not to
pose a threat to the safety and welfare of the neighborhood, as ascertained by the Public
Safety Director.
§ 242-103. Exceptions.
This chapter shall not apply to:
A. Persons licensed to hunt in this commonwealth while actually engaged in hunting
where permitted under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania;
B. Members of any organization incorporated under laws of this commonwealth engaged
in target shooting upon the grounds or property belonging to or under the control of
such organization; and
C. Any law enforcement officers when used in the discharge of their official duties.

Isn't that just crappy?!

Water pistols are on this banned list. They were put on this list back in the 1940s or 50s. Best I can tell they were never taken off.

Geez, guess we'd better start calling the cops to start raiding all the Toys R Us and Walmarts and Targets in Philly....
