NMAR (National Match Air Rifle)

With the way things are is this the direction the sport is going?
Anyone belong to a club with a NMAR league?

I brought this up at my club meeting and they told me I should look into it. Wasn't exactly what I was expecting to hear but I told them I would.
I see all the info on CMP's site but I would like to hear from somebody who's in a club and has people who do this.

I know I've been shooting my pellet rifles more so lately mainly because I can do it with my kids in the backyard. This also gives me a chance to drill range rules in their head before we actually get to the range.
Another big plus is it's kinda cheap to do. Well, unless you see the price tag on some of the air rifles out there.

Haven't heard of it, but we do have someone at our club looking into starting a field target program.

I've seen people shooting them at a local range. I've been shooting mine in the back yard.

Without a steady supply of .22, a pellet rifle is the next best thing. I just ordered one of these. The fastest fps I have now is 1000...that says 1200 fps. I can't wait to compare. Hopefully there is never a pellet shortage.

Would you trust one to take out a groundhog at 30 feet? I've got one rummaging about the garden and am looking for a swift/silent way to dispatch it. One of these days I'll get a can for my .22, but it's not in the cards right now. Next time I'm by the LGS, I'll look for some cb shorts.

If it's all you have in your hand at that moment...shot placement would be key. Big Grin
