From the article:
WAFF-TV of Hunstville, AL reports:
Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can't do any work there since they're not union employees....

Understandably, Moore said they're frustrated being told "thanks, but no thanks."

Anything from a reputable newspaper or media outlet is good enough for me.... I just won't accept a first report without some proof.

Its interesting to see the reports....the head of PSE&G was interviewed on my way home today on 101.5 (NJ's big talk radio station). He said the reports about the non union linesmen is false . He said that there are union and non union working together from all over the US.

Will be interesting to see if he was not being honest....the story won't go away if it is.

I don't throw the BS flag often, but, I followed this truck and 2 others from Wilmington, DE down 95 to North East, MD (I exited at NE), at 2:30 today. I am no Garmin, but I know that is not the way to NJ or NY. I don't think the story will go away. (Edit, I am not throwing the flag at you K9, but the head of PSE&G)

I wanted to honk at the guys or give a thumbs up, but I didn't know what gesture they would find supportive after what I heard they went through. I did nothing, because I didn't want them to think it was negative.

Since the picture sux, it says Alabama on the side.

It happened. Sean Hannity was playing the audio(there may be video I'm nit sure but it was on the radio) of the union guys yelling and swearing at the non-union workers.
Are you a sheep or a sheepdog?

I hope he gets hammered then. He talked about how management and the unions know this an "all hands on deck" incident blah blah blah. If he lied during a situation like this....then there should be a semantics for his removal.

This is getting interesting. Apparently the crews in question never even made it to NJ. They were in Virginia when confronted by the IBEW.

Mindless, huh? So how do you explain the Hannity sound bite? I suppose that was a non-union employee trying to make unions look bad?

And I suppose you missed this part in the article YOU linked:
Quote:The general manager of the other department mentioned, Decatur Utilities, has since verified claims that his workers were asked to affiliate with a union.

Because what's most important after a natural disaster is getting more guys signed up as dues-paying union members, right?
