Maybe this is better placed in its own thread but since it seems we're going down this road anyway here goes.
What if gun rights suddenly changed for the better? What if we never had to worry about infringements to our second amendment rights? What if we lived in a world where you could own whatever arms you wanted and didn't have to worry about whether you could either own it, paid a special tax for it, gave fingerprints for it, waited 6 months to a year to get your special slip of paper in the mail saying you were now allowed to own it or whether or not you could build one just like it in any form you choose?
I know, it's fantasy, but think about this.
What would we need with an organization like the NRA to fight for our rights if that fight never takes place? Who would give a pro2A organization money if they didn't feel their 2nd amendment rights were ever being infringed upon?
Wayne LaPierre would be first in line at his local assistance office.
Not saying they secretly plot to destroy gun rights, what I'm saying is they profit from fear. No fear no profit.
I know there is no perfect answer here except that I would err on the side of caution. This should be applied across the board anyway IMHO. I think a lot of people put a lot of blind faith into things. There are a lot of local and state level organizations that I'd prefer to give money to anyway.
YMMV
