The impossibility of gun control
The Navy Yard massacre won’t revive the gun debate in Congress for a simple reason. There is no gun control agenda this side of a total ban and confiscation that would have stopped Aaron Alexis. The Toomey-Manchin bill could have passed Congress unanimously. The assault weapons ban could still be in place. Gun-controllers could have achieved their long-ago goal of barring the private purchase of handguns. And every step of his mayhem at the Washington Navy Yard would have been unimpeded.

Two men, at least one of whom was armed with a gun, entered the 3rd Base Drive Thru convenience store in Dayton, Ohio and attempted to rob the store. Store owner Thomas Mauro was in an office in the rear of the store when he spotted the pair on a surveillance feed. Mauro retrieved a gun and fired at the criminals, striking one in the chest and causing both to flee. The wounded robber only made it to the restaurant next door before collapsing. California: Governor Must Hear Your Opposition to ALL Anti-Gun and Anti-Hunting Bills
With several severe anti-gun bills and one egregious anti-hunting bill on his desk for consideration, Governor Jerry Brown (D) MUST hear the VETO request of every law-abiding Californian DAILY. Governor Brown has until October 13 to make his decision on the bills listed below.

Addled by the AR-15
In the media, and to a lesser extent in the country at large, the AR-15 rifle serves as a totem and a fetish. It is the gun whose name everybody knows; the stuff of nightmares and of fantasies; perhaps the most loved and most hated object in a country of plenty. And, all told, that’s really quite silly. So sure were the horrified darlings of the gun-control salon that an AR-15 had played a part in the abomination at Navy Yard that many felt compelled to insert one into the story, front and center.

Blame the homicidal maniac, not the guns
It is painful and tragic that 12 hardworking people at the Washington Navy Yard went to work Monday and never came home. Aaron Alexis shot 29 people before the police were able to stop him. President Obama and his allies in the liberal media jumped to blame the weapons, but there is not a single gun-control law that could have prevented that horrific massacre.
