If you've come across any meaningful, or completely asinine tweets concerning the NRA press conference, post them here:

The media took one line and everyone is talking about it no knowing a damn thing about the context. You know these retards didn;t watch the press conference

Funny thing about the first tweet you posted (by Graham Norton): as a matter of fact firefighters do sometimes start fires in order to prevent them. They're called back fires and are the reason behind the phrase "to fight fire with fire". So the idea that a firefighter might need a fire starting device is perfectly reasonable. Sucks for old Graham.

These are the same libtards that somehow think banning legal gun ownership will somehow prevent illegal gun ownership. There emotional hysteria precludes them from acting rationally. I give up with these morons.

http://www.politics.co.uk/reference/gun-crime

"Despite the handguns ban imposed under the 1997 Firearms Amendment, research carried out following the implementation of the Act saw a 40 per cent increase in the number of gun crime incidents in the UK."

"The then prime minister, Gordon Brown, came under constant pressure to resolve the issues driving these (firearm related) murders. Commentators highlighted a range of social problems which might be responsible including inner city poverty, family breakdown, and the absence of positive black role models in the UK."

"The government also faced questions over the apparent availability of guns, which had remained strong despite the handgun ban"

He made very valid points and changed my perspective. Evil people are already here and they already have illegal weapons. How do we deal with them? Wringing hands just doesn't cut it. Think about it. No one likes the thought of armed protectors in schools, but in this huge country we may not have a choice. No one walks around with a sign on their forehead that says "I am crazy, I'm a monster, beware!" Can we take the chance?

Never did it concern NRA when black kids were dying or black females in their 20's who were pregnant...nor when they put metal detectors in black neighborhoods...where was the outrage...oh yeah they are "black" what hypocrites...it is not one for all and all for one in the united states of america.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.

And these are the types of people that speech was meant for. Gun owners already know the score and liberals are too emotionally hysterical to change there minds, but the fence sitters, they are the ones who can be reasoned with. I think the NRA hit a home run with this one. The administration are probably reeling from it. Good...

This came from an article on Piers Morgan, but it gives us some good stuff. The anti gunners would crap themselves over these, but this is why the 2A was written.

I want to look for them to make sure they are accurate.

Quote:“Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American…[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.”

Tenche Coxe, The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms… disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Jefferson’s “Commonplace Book,” 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

“The balance of power is the scale of peace. The same balance would be preserved were all the world not destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside … Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them … the weak will become prey to the strong.”
