Obama Admits: 'Energy Is Going to Be a Little More Expensive'
#1
again....BY DESIGN !!!! But But he's for the middle class.......and I got a bridge for sale.

Is it just me or if ya'll were POTUS would you not be working to get YOUR Country the lowest energy costs possible??

During a Friday Google+ hangout session, President Barack Obama conceded that his policies to address climate change will raise energy costs, a fact that could prove uncomfortable for Democrats in areas reliant on fossil fuel power plants:

I have to tell you that there are some Democrats, for example, who represent states or districts that are heavily reliant on old power plants and are more heavily manufacturing based. And the truth is that if you produce power using old power plants, you’re going to be emitting more carbon, but, to upgrade those plants means energy is going to be a little more expensive, at least on the front end.

This is not the first time Obama has admitted to supporting price-raising energy policies. In 2008, then-candidate Obama said he was fine with soaring energy prices so long as they helped curb green house gas emissions. “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,” he said.

can someone please explain to me how increasing energy prices help to fight climate change?

At least we didn't dump barrels full of cash into business that were supposed to make energy more efficient, and instead went bankrupt.

Wait a minute. . .

That would assume POTUS wanted to build the nation. This one seems hell bent on tearing us apart from the inside.

economics. since energy is more expensive, we use it less. apparently he does understand how supply curves, demand curves, price elasticity, and the role government serves in shaping consumption. sadly, this means people are going to go without heat and fuel for their cars.

this man is no moron. he's pure evil.

Not happening. people that have the money won't turn the thermostat down and people that don't have the money are getting free fuel for their homes to start with. There is no way in hell that by raising the price on energy people will watch what they are doing.

Some of us already have been. High efficiency bulbs, washer and dryer, and the thermostat is set at 66. Not to mention a few other measures we are taking.

i know that i've foregone going on road trips. i used to road trip to visit friends all over the east coast on a whim, but that's pretty much over now. gas is too expensive and airport security is too intrusive.

i use high efficiency bulbs just like you, but I do not use them because it is saving me money, because it doesn't. I am using them because I want my daughter and grand kids to grow up in a clean environment. As far as the heat in my house goes.........my thermostat is not going below 70 in the winter, nor will it ever.
I use propane to heat our house and I made that choice because it is probably the cleanest energy source as we know it.

I have always said it and my thoughts won't change......I will NOT do without.

you may want to rethink those bulbs then. they are full of mercury and other carcinogens.
