Obama arms Hezbollah, sends 200 armored vehicles to Lebanon

Quote: imagine how Israel must feel about this knowing that the US is arming Hezbollah, a terrorist organization and the defacto leaders of Lebanon that wants to destroy Israel from the face of the earth. Also, be sure and note the last paragraph:

JERUSALEM POST – The United States has given 200 armored vehicles to Lebanon, the Lebanese army said on Monday, bolstering forces that have been struggling to deal with sectarian violence inflamed by the war across the border in Syria.

The M113 armored personnel carriers (APCs) arrived by ship to Beirut on Sunday, the army said in a statement. A Lebanese security source said the army now had 1,200 APCs.

A US diplomat said the shipment of vehicles would support the Lebanese armed forces’ “capabilities and their mobility and ability to respond to crises. It is also to protect borders and internal stability”.

The United States has provided more than $140 million in equipment and assistance to the Lebanese armed forces in the past six months, including six Huey 2 helicopters, a 42-metre coastal security craft, more than 1,000 guns – including grenade launchers – and 38 million rounds of ammunition.

We’re arming all of Israel’s enemies whether it be Turkey, Egypt, and now Lebanon. And by arming Egypt, don’t think we’re not arming Hamas as well. After all, Hamas is part of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

And have been for at least 30 years. Its strange but it does give us some leverage with them.

Come on man... you're talking like the President is some kind of leftist construct that was reared on communist and militant radical ideals supported by people who control vast sums of wealth that they use to cripple economies while simultaneously growing their own fortunes. That's like... crazy n' stuff.

Yeah, that leverage sure has worked out well for us in the region. I'm sure that leverage is worth debasing our currency and putting our great grandkids further into debt. You just keep on defending this ridiculous shit as normal and good though...

The money is meaningless compared to our debt. Not the point though. Stating a fact has never ever been the same as defending anything. You know that so less just dismiss that sillyness.

The fact remains that there has not been a full scale war there for a long time and much has to do with our leverage. Not liking it is not the same as it not being true.

I'll guess that you never spent much time in the region. No matter. But if you did you would know first hand that the US does indeed hold much leverage. Not total. Not always. But it has been bought.

Me? I think we should let them fight it out with the winner calling us.

You? Nuke the A-Rabs? Ignore them into a hole? Shrug

That leverage that you speak of is with the corrupt dictators who actually receive the money. Those leaders take our money with one hand and slap us with the other by adopting policies that blame the regions problems on the US and Israel. That's given rise to fundamentalist Islam and it's why the common people in the region hate us.
