Obama suggests Republicans unwilling to compromise in gun control debate
#1
Occasionally I do like to bring our President down a few notches by shining a light on some of his idiocy, particularly on gun issues.

Here's one article I noticed not on here.

Quote:President Obama is suggesting that House Republicans on the issue of gun control appear neither willing to work with him nor listen to the American public on the issue.

“The House Republican majority is made up mostly of members who are in sharply gerrymandered districts that are very safely Republican and may not feel compelled to pay attention to broad-based public opinion, because what they're really concerned about is the opinions of their specific Republican constituencies,” the president said in an interview with The New Republic.

Obama also said he can get 50 percent of public support for many of his upcoming initiatives, but “I can't get enough votes out of the House of Representatives to actually get something passed. … I think there is still shock on the part of some in the party that I won re-election.”

The president said he has a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that date back for generations.

He said that moving forward on the topic means understanding that the realities of guns in urban areas are very different from the realities of guns in rural areas.

He'll never read this, but I'm going to write it as if it's to him (then send him an expanded letter with it later for some Whitehouse mailroom staffer to read).

Mr. President

Your latest remarks about gun issues, public support, and the GOP in the House of Representatives highlights your own unwillingness to listen to the American public. You were elected President again, as you constantly remind us, yet you ignore and belittle the election of others who won their seats on behalf of their constituents and act as if your election over-rides their own.

I, for example, stand as but one of many such citizens that cast a ballot for you in the election yet voted also to send back a Republican to the halls of Congress who will truly defend my right to keep and bear firearms for my defense and the defense of my family.

May your apparent frustration on this issue serve as an ever-present reminder that even those who voted for you don't necessarily agree with your attempted gun-grab.

May your constant childish reminders about your election that you give to the press continue to highlight your ignorance that the people did not grant you the power of a tyrant.

May your constant references to hunting continue to highlight that you do not understand, or that you choose to ignore, the true purposes of the right of the citizens to bear arms in their defense.

May your statements on urban vs. rural gun ownership continue to highlight the lie you made in your inaugural address that we must work "together, as one nation, and one people" to accomplish the challenges before us. You seek to divide rather than to unite and your words continue to show that to be true.

You ignore that the American public is buying up arms out of fear caused not by the gun lobby but by your own words and actions showing that you target us, the law-abiding gun owners, rather than criminals in your attempts to micro-manage our lives over yet another issue.

So keep talking, Mr. President, keep lashing out at those who prevent you from implementing failed gun-control policies that won't actually make society safer. For while you keep talking the American people keep pushing the very representatives you condemn; we tell those elected officials to hold the line, to protect our rights, and to implement sound policies that make our schools safer rather than failed ideas that strip us of our freedoms.

I keep saying, we should allow restrictions to the second amendment.

How about on top of that, add restrictions to the other.

Freedom of speech? Only if it is in english. You speak any other language, go to jail. Can't do that though. That isn't right.

13th. You know, if I owned a few slaves, my workload would be decreased pretty quickly. But we can't go on race. How about debt. You work off any debt by being a slave to another person. .gov officials first.

The 19th? Sure, women can vote. But only in local elections. Nothing really "important".

Of course we are unwilling to compromise, republican, democrat, liberal. Americans are unwilling to flex when it comes to our rights. And I am proud to be American.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

There are somethings we will overlook but when it comes to our god given constitutional right to bare arms, we will fight tooth and nail to make sure some piece of shit muslin asshole will not succeed in taking them away.
Dont think for one minute that when pushed we will lay down our weapons and submit to your fanatical demands. Blood will be drawn before this matter is resolved.

Compromise? What compromise? You want all guns gone. Period.

The majority of America does not support you. You lie in every facet of your office. YOU, BARACK OBAMA, MURDERED AN AMERICAN CITIZEN WITHOUT TRIAL. YOU MURDERED OVER A THOUSAND CHILDREN WITH DRONE STRIKES YOU AUTHORIZED. And you were silent as to the 506 mostly teenaged black males who died last year in your own hometown... because it wasnt politically advantageous to you.

Your hypocrisy and deceit shall be the the only things you are remembered for.

Most likely, sure. Yet if it just barely lingers in the mind of a mail-room staffer for a day it'll be worth the postage to me. As such, it will get edited and expanded a bit tonight and mailed out tomorrow.
