Obama To Unleash Racial-Preferences Juggernaut
#1
Quote:If your organization has a policy or practice that doesn't benefit minorities equally, watch out: The Obama administration could sue you for racial discrimination under a dubious legal theory that many argue is unconstitutional.

President Obama intends to close "persistent gaps" between whites and minorities in everything from credit scores and homeownership to test scores and graduation rates.

His remedy — short of new affirmative-action legislation — is to sue financial companies, schools and employers based on "disparate impact" complaints — a stealthy way to achieve racial preferences, opposed 2 to 1 by Americans.

Under this broad interpretation of civil-rights law, virtually any organization can be held liable for race bias if it maintains a policy that negatively impacts one racial group more than another — even if it has no racist motive and applies the policy evenly across all groups.

Equal Outcomes

This means that even race-neutral rules for mortgage underwriting and consumer credit scoring potentially can be deemed racist if prosecutors can produce statistics showing they tend to result in adverse outcomes for blacks or Latinos.

Already, Attorney General Eric Holder has used the club of disparate-impact lawsuits to beat almost $500 million in loan set-asides and other claims out of the nation's largest banks.

In addition to the financial settlements — which include millions in funding for affordable-housing activists — Bank of America, Wells Fargo and SunTrust have all agreed to adopt more minority-friendly lending policies.

Though the administration seeks equal credit outcomes, regardless of risk, across the entire banking industry, it doesn't have to sue every bank to achieve its goal.

As a prophylactic against similar prosecution, IBD has learned the American Bankers Association recently advised its 5,000 members to give rejected minority loan applicants a "second look," which it says "can result in suggested changes in underwriting standards."

Also, the administration sent a chill through the financial industry earlier this year when it announced its new credit watchdog agency will join Justice, as well as HUD, in using the disparate-impact doctrine to enforce civil-rights laws.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau chief Richard Cordray warned companies the agency will "protect consumers from unfair lending practices — as well as those that have a disparate impact on communities of color.

" He added:

"That doctrine is applicable for all of the credit markets we touch, including mortgages, student loans, credit cards and auto loans," as well as small-business loans.

The impact on racial tensions aside, you know he will do this not by building up the poor but by squashing those who are financially responsible.

I like this graph of racial household average net worth, which relates to the subject at hand. It's one of those things we're not allowed to talk about without being considered racist...

Can someone explain to me if the white man is so evil and all powerful being so discriminatory against all non-whites why then Asians in general have been able to find success while in their past have been known to have been treated like slaves in the old west, discriminated against and still are in some areas (often times by racist blacks amazingly enough, look at the issues with the schools in south Philly between Blacks and Asians), and have been subject to many of the same obstacles as other minorities such as Latinos for example throughout American history. Yet in spite of this they generally don't demand to have Chinese, Korean or Japanese speaking teachers in US schools and actually want their kids to learn English as well as work hard to put their kids through college so they can make something of themselves rather than expect a free ride like other minorities. They also make up a fraction of the prison population when normalized against the percentage of the general population they make up. How is this possible? Why are other minorities so deficient by comparison?

I suppose then it must be racist to point out that statistically speaking from studies from major universities that Blacks and Latinos on average have IQ scores 10-20 points lower than Whites or Asians? Yet, it's still taboo to suggest that maybe this disparity is due to the fact that most White and Asian families have both parents present in the household and their respective cultures don't idolize chauvinist and abusive attitudes toward women, in addition to idolizing drug lords, rap stars, and sports heroes almost exclusively. Of course we can't then possibly come to the conclusion that these disparities might have nothing to do with skin color, genes, or societal oppression and might have a lot more to do with the cultural ethos and ideals inherent in the community, where our values are placed in our respective communities, and the examples set by adults around the children during their development... like how in some minority communities where you could be seen as "acting too white" for giving a shit about your grades in school or trying to better yourself and that is somehow a bad thing.

Gotta love our politically correct society... It is a truly amazing thing to behold.
