Obama Tosses Billions to Insurance Companies to Cover Up ObamaCare Losses
#1
Quote:Gee, we thought ObamaCare was working so well

The Obama administration has quietly adjusted key provisions of its signature healthcare law to potentially make billions of additional taxpayer dollars available to the insurance industry if companies providing coverage through the Affordable Care Act lose money.

The move was buried in hundreds of pages of new regulations issued late last week.

It comes as part of an intensive administration effort to hold down premium increases for next year, a top priority for the White House as the rates will be announced ahead of this fall’s congressional elections.

the change in regulations essentially provides insurers with another backup: If they keep rate increases modest over the next couple of years but lose money, the administration will tap federal funds as needed to cover shortfalls.

Insurers around the country have started to file proposed 2015 premiums, just as the midterm campaigns are heating up.

Obamacare, as the law is often called, remains a top campaign issue, and big premium increases in states with tightly contested races could prove politically disastrous for Democrats.

It's the "BILL OF RIGHTS" not the bill of "needs"

Wooo Hoooo! Let's buy some votes!

With every passing day my disgust with government grows. Rule of law means nothing. I am certain that my government will regulate me into a felon before my death. When it happens I intend to embrace it with gusto.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

Socialize the losses....privatize the gains. This is what a bailout boils down to. This new story is nothing new at all. I remember reading there was a bailout provision in the Affordable Care Act when it passed many years ago. They may end up having to go to it only after year 1 of its full implementation! How can the White House claim success when the insurance companies may need to be bailed out already?

Throw Billions into this but SSDI is now supposed to go bust in 2016. There are actually people who need SSDI and paid into it for many years. Thats the latest report. Feel free to check it out on your own. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/01/...-early-as/ http://washingtonexaminer.com/social-sec...le/2532858 http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/social-sec...y-by-2016/

It doesn't privatize the gains, there won't be any gains. The insurer will lose money due to inadequate premiums and will therefore need to be bailed out.

The point of this is to eliminate the bad press about rising premiums due to obamacare. Once the insurer loses money due to not raising premiums to appropriate levels, the govt will be forced to give insurers bailouts for the sake of the economy. We will then hear about how the free market doesn't work and the govt needs to regulate the insurance industry so that this doesn't happen again and single payer is the best system. Just watch, it will happen IMO.
