OC all day, then got carded...
#1
So changed the Camber on my Serpa CQC holster today and feels 10x more comfortable so I decided to OC while shopping. We went to a good bit of stores, shopped for a good 4hrs with no problems Big Grin On the way home I decided to get a pack of cigarettes. Still to this day it makes me chuckle to myself when I get carded to purchase cigarettes when I am OCin. Idk why but makes me laugh.... I can legally carry a firearm in the open with out having to provide ID but I legally have to to purchase cigarettes.

And to top it off the cashier complimented me on my choice of carrying a Glock, he said "I've always loved Glocks. Is it your EDC?" But then still carded me HAHAHAHA

I'm pretty sure it's a state law to require ID. And it's not something to skip on, The cashier would be the one in handcuffs for selling to a minor. Not to mention the fines the store would have to pay.

I don't know if they do it in PA but in FL the State police get minors to attempt to buy cigarettes(& alcohol cuz its sold in conscience stores) so they can bust people. I know someone that was arrested for this, it wasn't pretty. They actually had SWAT type officers raid the store after the person forgot to ID.

Edit: Also I like to run my Serpa 1 "notch" forward. I don't like how my gun sits when there is no cant. And all the way canted make for an awkward draw, at least for me.

Yes I know, I said it is funny that I don't have to provide ID for OC but I have to for buying cigarettes lol...

And yes they have done that in PA before. I know of a few small gas stations that got busted like that.

Technically your also not allowed to purchase booze without a Photo ID. No matter how old you are. Most of you won't remember this. But they use to issue a Photo ID just so you could buy booze in a state store. I still have mine. They were issued before Photo Drivers License were issued. That is why you had to get the ID to buy booze. Ahhhhh, the good ole days.

But you're right. Carry a gun. Don't need ID. Buy cigs and you do.

At least you got a compliment on your Glock. And kudos to her for following the law.

I know right Big Grin It's my second compliment on my G23, first one was a uniformed LEO in Giant, thought he was going to harass me but was curious about my setup and very interested in the Gen4...

That's too funny. PSP once told me, while OCing if I enter a car, I have to have a LTCF or else I'm CC. I carry mine every time, "just in case".

I quit smoking this past April at 56 years old.

At the time I was still getting carded for smokes and I have a full head of gray hair! Shrug
