If so, it could be argued that you're covered under FOPA, if your destination was still within PA, but the road just happened to meander into MD and back into PA.

The most popular road used would be 851. Crosses in and out of MD when heading east to west from Fawn Grove to Stewartstown. Other than that, a lot of them you turn on to go into MD.

One wrong turn and your sitting in the slammer. The LEO in MD don't care if you didn't know you were in MD or if you made a wrong turn.

Might be one of those things you laugh about later, but not something I would be laughing about at the time.

Yeah wasn't laughing all to much. And it is the people I live with, my friend works in Marietta so we would never be looking for a house in MD that is why I never asked. I just didn't realize we were so close to the border :/

I ... errr, a friend of mine had a similar situation.

Me .... errr, he and his daughter were driving from the eastern panhandle in WV to a car dealership in VA. Well, this friend of mine doesn't have a very good sense of direction when in new areas.

While trying to find the car dealership, he somehow found himself on a 6 lane highway crossing a bridge, before he new it, he passed a sign that said "Welcome to Washington, DC". No way to stop, no where to turn around, so he got off at the first exit, disarmed and got right back across the river as soon as he could.

On the way back home he stopped at the first big box store he passed and picked up a GPS.

You guys do realize that simply possessing a gun that isn't legal in the state is protected by federal law? If the gun is legal where you left from and is legal where you are going, you can transport it through areas where it is not legal as long as you don't make an extended stop. Food and fuel stops are allowed. Staying the night is not.

This happened to me twice.

My partner came up to visit me in PA. Being I'm in the NW, we're very very close to Ohio. So we decide to take a ride and we come to this one road and it says "welcome to Ohio", we make a left thinking we're still in PA, we're not. Low and behold one side of the road is PA and the other is Ohio. Not good!

Another time, after going to Walmart in Corry for assorted necessities, one of them being ammo, I decide to take a ride around the area. After about 15 minutes of driving, I notice that everyone had NY plates in their driveway. Uh, oh!
