OC on motorcycle!!???
#1
Okay I figured I'd get some heads turning on this subject. I have been thinking about this for quite some time but lacked doing my own research on it.

Okay. In PA you can OC all you want were you can "walk" to without a valid LTCF. You must have a LTCF to get into a vehicle carrying. I understand this.

Now say I did not have my LTCF and decided to hop on my streetbike and OC? I am not "in" a vehicle? It is not concealed from either my jacket or my bike? Sooo would that be a loop hole?

My friend is 18 and he OC's "he legally owns his handgun" But he is limited to where he can carry because he is stuck with out a LTCF so he can't transport it anywhere.... BUT he has a bike too. SO can he get on his bike OCin and go to walmart? Big Grin thank you guys.

You cannot carry a firearm in PA in or on any conveyance without a LTCF. That includes bicycles, motorcycles, horses, etc.

You have a link to the law? JW I have never seen anything stating that when I did my research.

Quote:18 Pa.C.S. § 6106: Firearms not to be carried without a license

(a) Offense defined.--
(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), any person who carries a firearm in any vehicle or any person who carries a firearm concealed on or about his person, except in his place of abode or fixed place of business, without a valid and lawfully issued license under this chapter commits a felony of the third degree.

I know it doesn't actually say the words "in or on" like I stated above, however, this is definition of "vehicle" in PA:

Quote:1 Pa CSA 1991
"Vehicle." A conveyance in or on which persons or property may be carried.

Notice the above definition DOES use the words "in or on." So that automatically applies for the UFA statute.

This topic has been hashed out many MANY times, and the general consensus is always that you need a LTCF.

You should be able to carry in any manner, openly or concealed, in or on any vehicle, or on foot, without permission from anyone.

But unfortunately, you can't.

Ha! This is me being snarky. You haven't seen me riled up. In fact, I haven't even seen me riled up since, oh, 1991.
