Academy and Grant is practically the suburbs. It's not exactly an area that one really needs to go walking around carrying 24-hours a day.

But since "the creep" is moving north, I guess it is. Hell, there's plenty of areas in Bucks Co. that are total shit and I take it with me if I have to stop for gas.

Well, this explains it. Smacked in the back of the head first.

More detail:

In the second incident, also around 10 p.m., an off-duty Philadelphia police officer was stabbed during a robbery in Northeast Philadelphia. The attack happened when the officer was approached by two men on Grant Avenue near the Torresdale train station.

"He was just out for a jog," Chief Inspector Small told reporters. "He lives in the area."

The officer, who was in stable condition Monday night, was struck in the head and stabbed. The assailants took cash and his iPod, Small said.

Even still, that isn't a dicey area at all. It's on the other side of the golf course.

This is one reason that if I need cardiovascular exercise (which I do, being so sedentary) I ride my bike. Unfortunately my bike has been out of commission since I went psychotic last year for a week and lost my keys and had to take my kryptonite u-lock from my bicycle's handlebars by removing the break and gear shifter from one side.

Well that would explain being unarmed. I jog around my neighborhood around midnight during the summer. I do this unarmed, but I have been looking for a comfortable, yet secured holster so I can have my LCP with me.

That neighborhood isn't too bad. I attended a few parties in that area during my youth. However, I also carry with me 24/7 minus while at work. I wish my company would change that policy, but we're headquartered in NYC so you know that won't happen any time soon.
