Ordered a Dillon XL650
#1
My goal for 2012 was to get a reloading setup (first time loader). 2012 ended, and all that I had achieved in the way of reloading was floundering back and forth in indecision and wasting money buying factory ammo all along. Then, just as I finally decided what to get, and that I'd get it after Christmas, the hysteria started...

So, I sucked it up and just ordered the XL650 from brianenos.com. Like everything else, it's back-ordered, so I probably won't see it until around the beginning of spring. Fortunately, I should not need to purchase any factory ammo between now and then, so I don't have to deal with any price gouging. And it'll take me until spring to get my reloading area setup anyway.

A number of threads both here and on that "other" site were helpful in deciding between the Hornady and Dillon. So, thanks. Now if I just had a Dillon t-shirt.

Good choice, I have one and it's been great. I also ordered it from BrianEnos.com. Now unless you have reloading components stashed away they are just as hard to come by as ammo.

Good choice...I have a 550 and would like to upgrade to the 650.

just some advice, if you have never reloaded before it would be a good idea to use this as a single stage press for awhile...

I saw that advice lots of different places, and I always found it interesting. The actual process of turning components into a completed cartridge isn't complex, but there must be a reason this advice is so popular.

I'll be having an experienced loader friend over to help me get started.

I may be wrong but I don't think the 650 can go single stage.
