PA AG Kane in Philly today to end "FL Loophole"
#1
Haven't seen anything on the news sites, but a friend of mine works for CBS Philly, and posted on FB & Twitter the following:

PA State AG Kathleen Kane in #Philly today w/ Mayor Nutter & Commish Ramsey. Expected to announce the end of Florida #gun permit loophole

End of Florida #gun permit loophole means PA residents denied by police to carry will not be able to get reciprocal FL license to carry here
@jdkolakowski on Twitter

She's starting her attack folks!

Also, Jeff is always looking for pro2A folks to talk to and present our side of things. Feel free to contact him.

I wish her luck, I'm pretty sure that what she wants to change would require legislation and while she may get backing in the big cities I doubt the whole state would stand beside her.

That's a direct violation of her duty and maybe criminal! We need to get a lawyer on this.

I'll donate to the fund if we can find someone who won't charge us an arm and a leg.

Update...

Jeff just told me that Kane's office says they are taking advantage of some agreement that the AG's office made with Florida years ago, that no one acted on until now. I don't have any other details yet, but it sounds like they are either ending or at least altering the reciprocity agreement so that the permits are not available to those who were denied a PA permit, or the applicant much have a PA permit before FL will issue theirs.

And do we think it's a good thing that a PA resident denied an LTCF under our very permissive laws can turn around and obtain and use a Florida CCW?

Why would that be a good thing?

The Philly is denying people an LTCF for unpaid parking tickets and many of the other "character clause" bullshit reasons, I think it's reasonable for people to take another route. Obviously she isn't interested in fixing that problem with the Philly GPU. If she wants to fix the "florida loophole" she should be looking square at Philly and them not following the law.

Because philly routinely denies on no real grounds. Of course it would be better if we as advocates would have rolled with the ball and changed that. And still so it would be better if every denial was met with a lawsuit instead of , ehh I'll just get a florida one.

Since she's claiming that whatever she's about to do was made possible by a "deal" that's been in place for years, it sounds like she's trying to pin the blame on Corbit since he was likely the AG when the "deal" was made.
