PA AG Kane pushing act that prevents guns .....

Quote:Attorney General pushing act that prevents guns from being carried across state lines.

Pennsylvania's Attorney General-elect has put herself in the sights of gun owners even before being sworn into office. Kathleen Kane and nine other Attorney Generals have asked U.S. senate leaders to put a stop to legislation that would let licensed gun owners carry concealed firearms across state lines

~snip~

Its formal name is the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act. Simply put, if enacted, someone who can legally carry a concealed weapon in Pennsylvania would be allowed to do so in any other state.

This would actually be constitutional under the same section as a drivers or marriage license.

And she has the authority to control reciprocity agreements. Nice. Angry

Although, wouldn't her stance be against the PA constitution? So, how qualified for office is she? Could she be disqualified before she is even sworn in? Big Grin Meh, one could only hope. Undecided

Quote:In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Pennsylvania's Kane and the other Attorney Generals say the bill would restrict states' ability to control permits inside their borders, forcing them to recognize permits from states with weak oversight.

Which ones? PA is one of the easiest states to obtain your permit (LTCF). Plus (if I'm wrong, I'm sorry), every state has some sort of background check process for permits and guns bought go through NICS. This woman is talking out of her ass.

Quote:“I support the 2nd Amendment rights of every law-abiding Pennsylvania to carry firearms. But as I have said regarding the ‘Florida loophole’, which allows someone denied a Pennsylvania license to obtain a license in Florida and use reciprocity to carry the concealed weapon in Pennsylvania, we need to ensure that Pennsylvania laws are not undermined. These federal bills would take authority away from Pennsylvania to make its own decisions.” Kathleen Kane, Attorney General- Elect

Oh Christ, here we go the the bullshit "Florida Loophole" again. There is no fucking loophole you complete moron. It's harder to get a permit in Florida than PA. On top of that those that are going to FL to get a carry permit are most likely because they were denied based on the bullshit "character clause".

A study was done a few years ago (that i can't locate right now) that showed the number of Florida permit holders in Philly. There were around 2000 that had FL permits because they were denied an LTCF by Philly because of "character" (probably too many parking tickets). In te study it showed a map of where these FL permit holders lived, most (if not all) were in some of the worst sections of Philly. That means law-abiding citizens were arming themselves for protection against the criminals.

Someone need to smack this bitch upside the head and explain to her that she is a complete idiot.

While i did vote against her based on this anti gun standpoint, i have to disagree with your post. Like it or not the character clause is part of our system in PA. It may be a bullshit clause but it is in place and it does disallow a lot of people to obtain their license in PA. So they are not incorrect in saying that there is a loophole that allows denied PA citizens to legally conceal in PA. Unfortunately she is right that law does create a loophole that undermines the laws our state has deemed fit for us.

Before the attacks start let me say that i feel the entire licensing process is complete BS. EVERYONE should be allowed to carry a firearm any way they feel fit anywhere in the USA without any form of licensing. Do we need a license to practice free speech, a license to exercise our right to silence?

Is anyone actually surprised by this?

I mean seriously, here's a woman whose entire campaign was backed by Bloomberg.

Had her miserable lying ass run the same ads across the state she might not have won. We watched her ads on Scranton TV, no mention of guns or gun control. Then we saw her ads on the Philly channels and it was all 'gun control and Florida loophole'

Gonna be a long 4 years with her miserable ass in office

The reason for this is that most of the "Florida Loophole" permit carriers are in Philly. All because of the shitty GPU.
